First ride on Vaq using the new Kaw sissy bar. It hits my passenger about belt level, not quite high enough to make one feel secure. I need a taller sissy bar!

Does anyone know if there are any othe sissy bars for the Vaq? I have looked all over and can't find one.

Thanks, in advance!

you never see much in the way of aftermarket accessories for kawi bikes the first
couple of years after a new model is released.

You can use the nomad one. It is pricy though.

I was able to move the backrest pad up about 2 inches. There are 2 bolts that secure the pad to the backrest. Those bolts attach to a metal plate with nuts welded to it located within the pad. I removed the plate, took some measurements, drilled new holes and welded 2 new nuts in place. Turned out really good and still very stable. I think you could get three+ inches in rise without an issue.

Hey, great! Do I just tell the guy at the parts counter that I want a sissy bar for an '11 Nomad?

Just tell your passenger to hang on (to you) tighter. Problem solved. You can PM me for my Paypal info.
