2011 Vaq handelbars

Been thinking of a bar swap. The ones on the bike are hideous, I was thinking of Paul Yaffe (bagger nation) 10" baby apes or maybe some drags with 8-10" swept back risers.

Has anyone messed with their bars yet?

They look like 1.25 bars, tapering to 1" for where the controls are. I wonder if there's something mysterious going on inside the bars, or if they have funny notches or bumps to locate controls etc.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

I haven't messed with the Vaquero bars yet, but you're right, my Nomad had a notch to locate the switch housings.
Some mini apes will look awesome on these things! I remember reading Roaring Toyz's write up about theirs, and you'll need to bring the bars back to avoid hitting the fairing.
