Does anyone know where I could buy some chrome controls.

Looking for switch housing, master cylinder reservoir assemblies (with mirror pirch), and levers assemblies.

I've looked and seen that show chrome makes replacement switch housing, but I can't find anything else. Am I over looking it?

Thanks!

I hope that's not a pic of the actual product as it looks like there are some external mounting tabs.

Jared---I just saw a site that had a chrome exchange. I can't remember off hand which one but I'll look in the morning. I've seen non adjustable chrome levers everywhere. Never seen any OEM style (adjustable) chrome levers.

Your right Monkeyman. I didnt notice the external mounting tabs until you mentioned it.

No these go over top of the existing covers. Not horrible, but not quite as nice of a look as I would like.

Scootworks has a chrome exchange program, but it's too spendy imo. They make you pay the shipping, both ways plus the cost of chroming. May as well take it to a local platting shop and get it done.

For example, the clutch and break master cylinder are $125ea plus shipping both ways. Thats around $300. There ought to be an aftermarket master cylinder set for less than that.

I may just have them polished.

I have the covers Jared. No they aren't the best but they'll do for me.
You don't see the tabs or screws either.

Scootworks. That's it. I haven't priced plating in years so I didn't know that they were over the top.

My dealer has some on the shelf. If I remember correctly, they are Show Chrome brand. ??? I'll double check sometime soon.

I would getthem plated locally, although its probably still going to be costly, and you would lose the symbols that identify the buttons.

Must be some way to re etch the symbols back on then maybe powder coat the symbols in red to match the bike? If you're gonna spend the dough, might as well go all the way.

I wouldn't want the symbols. I don't think I'll forget ;-)

When you double check, will you see if they have everything, not just the switch housing.

Probably won't forget but it would be a neat custom touch that few if anyone else would have. It's all in the details.

Hey Jared, here is a link off of Chuckster's web pg. maybe they'll give you a quote to plate what you want to have done. Just an idea. Maybe going through Chuckster you'll get a break somewhere along the way. Maybe not.

Alloy like we have can be buffed out to look almost exactly like chrome. A little clear coat and it stays that way. Jus sayin'.

You can always go to the darkside and put HD controls on. They will work you just have to custom order the lines and cables to have ends for bother the HD controls and the KAWA ends for the engine side. Down side is it will be costly.

Called around today and found a place is SLC that will show chrome all six pieces for $100.

I'm going to ask to see a sample of his work before letting him plate them, because I have received questionable quality chrome plating at other locations. For those who have had pieces chromed before, does this price sound about right?

Don't forget the little pieces like the part that holds the throttle lines in place. I still say it's all in the details.

Sure does. Last time I had chrome done at a bumper shop, they were more than willing to do my brake pedal adapter for $35 (to be able to put custom brake pedal on the nomad). The trouble was they had a $60 minimum. So I went home, made a second and had both done for $70. - - - Long story short - - - to have all that chromed, $100 doesn't sound bad from my limited experience.

100 bucks isn't bad at all for 6 pieces.

You want to know there is a base copper layer, then a nickel layer, and last a chrome layer. 3 layer plating. Don't settle for 2 layers period.
