I was cruising along in the right hand lane and noticed that, up ahead, I was going to overtake a mid-sized sedan. There was a string of cars in the fast lane. I was enjoying the ride and in no hurry, so I settled in, waiting for the string to pass.
When I looked back from the left mirror, I noticed the sedan was a quarter way onto the shoulder. Was he pulling over? No, he came back in. By now, I had slowed down to match his speed. Then he drifted to the right again. This driver was either drunk or pre-occupied.
When the string finished passing me, I moved to the left lane and saw the cell phone in his left land as I moved up. He again drifted right, and his window was open.
I got up even, looked directly at him, blasted my Stebel to get his attention, and yelled, "Pay attention to the road," reinforced with a left-handed gesture that attempted to communicate that he should look at the road. I saw him jump and open his eyes very, very wide.
I know the Stebel shocked him. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a wee-wee accident. As far as my yelling: At 65+mph, with my bike's noise and the wind noise on his own vehicle, I'm sure he heard something like, "Hf ajd a asdpf qwpwoe mphhf!" and my left hand gesture probably looked like that over-the-head gesture that Chimpanzees make.
For as long as I could see him in my rearview mirror, he stayed in his lane.
