Waterproofs??????

Anybody have any recommendations for waterproof overclothing that is actually waterproof. Very much over getting soaked through what is jokingly called waterproof. mine are MotoDry and they are not dry if it rains.

GO TO A SPORTING GOODS STORE AND BUY CAMP DRY. IT IS A SPRAY CAN PUT IT ON ABOUT TWO TIMES AND IT WORKED FOR ME FOR ABOUT 4-5 HOURS IN POURING DOWN RAIN. THE ONLY SPOT IT WONT WORK ON IS ZIPPERS THE RAIN WILL ALWAYS FIND ITS WAY THROUGH THAT. BEST OF LUCK

I have a FirstGear Himalaya jacket and the corresponding mesh pants with waterproof liner. I’ve ridden cross country in them and used them for about 30,000 miles. I’ve been in heavy rain at 70 mph, all day rain, and temperatures down in the low 30’s. They are great. I stay completely dry except for any wicking of water up my jeans at the bottom of the legs or occasional drips that get in around my neck. They are vented for warmer temperatures, but the closures seal them up tight. Many times they have been soaked on the outside for hours on end, but I am dry.

Wal-mart sells a silicone spray in the shoe dept for cloth/fabric shoes. it works very well on material like jainsuits and the water just beads right up. Worth a try for less than $4.

I have a rain suit made by Nelson Rigg http://www.nelsonrigg.com/ I'm pretty sure mine is the SR-5000 Strom Rider suit. I have rode all day long in the rain and not one drop of water went through. The exterior is PVC and the interior is 100% nylon. My gloves and socks were totally soaked through. I guess my boots aren't waterproof. The friend I was riding with bought some special waterproof military boots and he said his feet were bone dry. I have another friend that wears a cheap yellow rainsuit and he stays dry too (his is also PVC maybe look for that)
