View Full Version : Wife made me do it. New speedo plate

09-05-2007, 06:45 PM
Ok after having her bike for over a year the wife said she has waited long enough for me to install her Custom speedo face thats been sitting on my desk for the last 8 months ::) So I told my buddy to bring his G/F bike over since his G/F has the same bike as my wifes 06 Kawasaki Vulcan 900LT and we did a dual speedo plate install this morning on both bikes. Needless to say she is a very happy camper right now. Take a look below of the pics. My wife is the one with the blue skulls. Guys you know how it is when you do something for a living it's the last thing you want to do at home. I build these speedo plate everyday.. I love it yes but you know what i mean. I'm glad I finally got it done...

Looks really cool! Can you show a pic of them at night? I think a bunch of us aren't sure what you meant by the looking different at night (with the light).

It allows you to remove your catalytic converter and the associated parts. This adds a little more exhaust sound and a little less back pressure. It's that black ugly think right next to your oil filter.

Some of you asked what the dial faces look like at night so here they are side by side day/night shots of both bikes below. Hope this helps.

The light on the Nomad speedo is pretty anemic as is, I'm wondering if you would see much color at all at night? just pondering you know. I wished the light was whiter light not so yellow and sub-dued. Anybody tried a bulb change out on the speedo YET?????

Takes about 20 minutes. From Beg to end. Really easy on our nomads for sure. I have installed about 4 of them in nomads myself now.

Not color per say but as you can see by the pics i posted in this thread you can see it pretty well at night. color goes away due tot he orangeish light background
