View Full Version : Seat mod = $$$$
Stopped at area upholstery shop today to get suggestions on possible seat upgrade. Went in thinking I might try a gel pak or memory foam install to stock seat. Owner, however, did not recommend either...........the recommendation he made was a complete overhaul of seat & backrest. Would involve lengthening front bucket, modification of rear seat, and reduction in size of backrest............................basically starting from scratch. Had less than anything good to say about any stock motorcycle seat. Did I mention when he did his own seat he estimated he had approximately $1,000 in time and material???? Guess an aftermarket seat aint as expensive as I thought.

Where are you located? I got mine done local with memory foam, rider and pillion, for $125. A friend got his HD seat redone locally, with memory foam and some patch work for $150. I'd find another shop.

Wow...that's pricey.... I used meancitycycles.com. $100 and backache is gone.

+2 Yes Most Definitely , the shop you went to is not even close to reality. I am here in Lake Travis, Texas and have gotten what I thought was a high figure of $250. =r=

For the same price you can get the Russell Daylong with the driver backrest. Nothing better in my opinion.
