View Full Version : 2011 nomad shift indicator
My shift indicator is lazy. When shifting up Thur gears will indicate last gear number like when in 5 says 4 and same downshifting when in 4 still says 5. It does this in all gears but not all the time. Very sporadic. If i tap the shifter again lightly it will change. Dealer says leave bike for a week or two. Unless they see it do it they wont fix it. BTW only does it after it is good and warmed up. I see no adjustment in my repair manual. Just can check resistance. Anyone else have this issue. Any thoughts.

My bike has done the same, and I've had it in to have the sending unit replaced twice. The new sending units worked fine for a while but eventually they failed too and I'm needing a third replacement.

My 09 does it. It is like a delay. I shift up, look down and it indicates the lower gear. Then in a second or two it shows the real gear.
peterdarby. Mine will do that alot.
My 2010 does the same thing pererdarby described.
I noticed that when mine does that If I touch the shifter just a tad it corrects.

Someone on an earlier post on the old site suggest it's where the sensor pickup contacts the shifter and can be adjusted accordingly. Don't know as I rarely have the problem and haven't attempted to adjust it!
