Great day...sorta of

:(I ran out of gas with only 8 miles away from a gas station!!
:)Parked the bike on the side of the road...stuck my thumb out to the first car...got picked up and dropped off at the station...cool..things have gone from bad to good in an instant.
Had to buy a small gas can..15 bucks http://s2.images.proboards.com/angry.gif:(" title=">:(" border="0"/> that only took 4 dollars worth of gas.
As I was standing in line to pay for it...a gentleman came up to me and asked me if that was my bike down the road...I said yes. He told me he was a biker too and stopped to get a coffee and he would give me a ride back to the bike :) :) :)..so I bought him his coffee..we had a great chat..stayed with me while I put the gas in and fired it up...once he knew I was good to go..off he went.... http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif Ya never know eh...It turned out to be a good day after all...Bdog

The same thing happened to me a couple years ago. the bike quit right by a prison, a gaurd came buy to see what the problem was, turns out he had a gas can in his truck. He went to the gas station for me and returned with some fuel. He told me afterwards that he thought I may be waiting to pick up a buddy from the other side of the fence.

Where were you at Bdog? All Albertans are friendly folk ! Most people are helpful ! Are you running premium fuel? Found out that around here in the country there is one grade of gas ..... lowest going! When you need a fill, it all works. Glad to hear you made out OK! Den

I almost always stop whatever the vehicle. People have always stopped to help me and I'm still returning the favor. Get a good feeling on the giving end.

Glad everything turned out all right. It is good to know there are people out there still willing to help out. I always stop for a biker in trouble.

I stop for anything in distress. I have a pretty good average of getting most anything moving again with no parts too. I may steal parts off the vehical like fuses if say a fuel pump fuse blew and the horn fuse isn't likey to be needed. I will cut a wire to have it if a wire that needs to make a car run is fried.

I carry a ice pick light and a VOM at all times.

It's amazing how truly friendly people can be when you least expect it. Glad everything turned out all right.

I had an air line break on a semi, stopped in front of a prison. Called in for help put my triangles out and stood with my arms crossed and leaned against the front bumper till help got there. The guard in the tower kept a close eye on me and I on him. Had a friend that worked as a guard told me the tower guards have the guns. Didn't want him to get too nervous.
