Well I read some threads and did a bit of research and decided to buy a "Shark" system, this one, not a big investment.

Most people who have bought one of these have got pretty good things to say about them, just a few not so good, so I decided to give it a try. The system arrived very quickly, even though I am in the UK, with no customs/duty to pay. The first thing I did was to couple it up to a battery and give all the various functions a try. I was pleasantly surprised, the FM radio reception was good and when playing from an SD card and from my iPod (Aux jack) it was even better. I found a nice position for the speakers inside my batwing fairing using existing screw positions, no drilling etc. I also found a space for the Amp, again inside the fairing. It took a few hours to make a nice tidy job of fitting/wiring but I am now very pleased. The Amp is not waterproof so I will need to take care to ensure it doesn't get wet, the speakers are waterproof so don't need to worry about them. OK, its only day one and the system could go belly-up in a week/month/year, however if it remains working as it is now then I will be a happy bunny http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

OK, OK, here is the Amp. mounted on the inside of the right fairing bracket. The IR remote is very small, not the easiest thing to use when riding, not sure that I will use it much, the controls on the face of the Amp are quite easy to use/touch. Depends on what you are listening to, if FM radio then once the station/volume is selected then not much to change. If SD card is used then tracks can be skipped (move forward) easily. If coupled by the Aux to iPod etc then the device controls are used to select music, skip etc. See next post for the speaker images.
