The Nomad is sitting in the carport and showing 15,000 miles now. Rode to work and when I got home the bike was showing 14,995 miles. Decided to do a little riding around town to reach the 15,000 mile mark. Just a few houses up the street and the bike and I reached the 15,000 mile mark.
I must say since day one when the bike had zero miles through today I have had no problems what so ever with the Nomad. It has been and still is one of the greatest bikes I have ever owned. I am looking for many more trouble free miles.

The more you ride, the longer you will stay young. Ride safe.....

Gene, don't let these 'wild bikers of many miles' get you down. Keep on riding the way you do, it's about enjoyment, not just racking up the miles. I used to average 7K miles a season, but life throws stuff at you some times. If I do 3K miles in a season now, I'm plenty satisfied.

It doesn't matter if I ride 5 miles in a day or 400, I just enjoy being out in the wind Gerry.

My favorite part is spending all day on the bike with some pals on a long ride somewhere.
its easy to rack up the miles here.
Congratulations on the milestone Gene, hope you enjoy many more!

Glad you are enjoying your Nomad.
Riding is great because one can custom taylor the ride to their own needs, wants, or comfort: your ride, your pace, your mileage; it's your sport/recreation. ;)

I've got around 55000 mi. on my 08 nomad. I've changed lots of oil, lots of tires, a brake light bulb, the clutch pushrod seal, and just installed cam chain tensioner extenders. Oh yeah changed clutch discs and spring and that was probably because I ride a lot 2 up pulling a trailer. I think that's pretty trouble free riding.

34,000 miles on my '07. I've only ridden 25 miles since the National Rally. This turbine and compressor overhaul is really cramping my riding time. I'm at work today, for free, and the Blackberry doesn't stop when I'm home. Looking forward to retirement in a few years.

I never worked for free Mitch. That is unless I was in the military and had to work extra hours. We got a monthly check and if we worked extra or weekends we got nothing extra.
Once again thanks for the comments guys. I have taken two short rides today and will probably take a third ride in a while when it cools down a bit.

Gene, I made the mistake of taking a pic with my odo at 10K miles and these worthless pack of buzzards ate me alive!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif ;)
Now I'm at 26K and they've been leaving me alone for now! I think riding to Custer and back shut these fools up???!!
Carry on and ignore these mean spirited souls that bask in the pack mentality!!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I'm trying Brad, just got back from a 30 mile ride. Had a total of 39 miles for the day. Every little bit adds more miles. I am loving it all whether it is a trip to Texas or just short jaunts.

107.407 on a 12 year old bike? That's 8950 miles/year.

Let me see, 65,400 miles on a 2007 bike is 13,080 per year and this riding season is not over yet.
I can only ride 7 or 8 months a year.

Gene,
Google maps shows it as 2636 miles out to Crescent City, CA from your place. Pack a bag and a few extra pairs of skivvies....and go on a road trip. By the time you ride out there for the Redwoods Rally.....do the day rides and cruise home...you could add a cool 6000 miles, plus or minus. That would help you get past the break-in period.... http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif.
I just returned home from a 2700 mile trip and I turned 40,000 on my 08 in Hamilton, MT. I left that morning with 39,996 on the odometer and meant to take a photo at 40,000....but I forgot with all the great scenery around and when I looked down again it was at 40,004. Dammit! By the time I got home yesterday it's at about 41,000 and ready for another service.
Ride on out west and "we'll leave a light on for ya".... ;) http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif.
