View Full Version : OK, I'm smart.. why do I need forum etiquette 101?
Ah yes my students, it's time for another session of Forum Etiquette 101....... however this one might be better described as an enhanced version.
Have you ever carried on a conversation with someone on the forum and wondered who the hell they are? Me too. We can remedy this you know. Just place your name and information in the "Signature" part of your profile.
Click on the PROFILE text link on the top navigation bar, then click MODIFY and scroll down to the Signature part of your profile. Below is what I have in mine as an example:
http://www.kawanow.org/sigs/trip_footer3.jpg
Robert 'Trip' Hilliard
Lindale, Texas
robert@hilliard.ws
www.hilliard.ws (http://www.hilliard.ws)
2005 Kawasaki Nomad "Ruby Earl"

Blue Knights XXXIV #59055 - www.blueknightstx34.org (http://www.blueknightstx34.org)
http://www.kawanow.org/misc/VisitedStatesMapTrip.gif
Go Texas Rangers!
Go Texas Longhorns!
Dallas Cowboys? Who cares.
I have two pics included, a top and bottom one. But, I have my full name, location, email, website and info on my Nomad.
Feel free to copy, paste and modify the above text to your signature area. I realize that if you're a felon on the lamb, you probably don't want to do this and draw attention, but for all of us sane and honest members, please consider doing this if you haven't already.
Also, please remember to keep all footer pictures no wider than 800 pixels and no longer than 380 pixels. This will help those that log into the forum at a slower speed or dialup.
Many thanks and of course, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Trip
Sometimes I carry on conversations and can't remember who the hell I am, so this could be useful and kill two birds with one stone. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

If he follows that path perhaps this would be his "symbol" ?

What's that mean? I had a gun blue 01 like that and liked it alot. The problem was someone else liked it more and stole it.
I liked somethings about it better than the 1600 06 I got to replace the 01. IMO the 1500's have the best lines and look like classics, which is more my style.
As far as I can tell there is no real world difference in power, and the only draw back is getting to about 140 miles when the yellow light comes on.

You can get your best gas mileage on a Nomad if you keep your RPM's at or below 2800. For those that don't have a tach, that's about 65 mph or slower.

Skeeter... bought it new on July 18th, 2009. It is just about two-years old in 7-days. I only have about 11,000 and some change on it. I didn't get to ride for nearly 6-weeks this year due to my accident and getting it "fixed"... and then some limitations due to my back injury... so I am clearly short on my mileage with it.
But don't harass me much because it is a Harley... I do try to ride mine as much as possible, it is just that I had a few problems this season. Heck, if you see other threads... you'll see that I am considering a "hover-round" as my next vehicle!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I can't believe how things can REALLY REALLY get hi-jacked! And to think this thread was about ETIQUETTE! Boy, we really failed the test Trip was giving us. ;)

So just what does a BadBoy Air Horn sound like?
Is it the sound of buckshot whistling past your ear?
... the crack of the paddle as the pockets of your jeans make a permanet impression?
What could be so bad it grabs your attention?

Actually I thought the thread was quite lucid and all ideas/opinions expressed were articulated clearly and to the point. ;)

Yea, that's why it went sideways so fast. . . :-)
You will notice that most all who responded to this thread have changed their sig line, so Trip did get his point across before the thread took on a life of it's own. That is what counts in my opinion.
