Does anyone know a good way clean bugs from the windshield?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. - I'm gonna check my V+H pipes for cracks too :) Thanks for the heads up on that one...........much appreciated.

Just soak a towel or a newspaper (after you have read it) in water and plaster it over your windshield and wait 10 or 15 minutes. then peel off the towel or paper and with a little elbow grease, the bugs come right off.

I use a soft cotton towel to clean my windshield. I only use water. For the bug spots that are hard to clean off use your fingernail and scratch the spot through the towel.

Plenty of water and a bug sponge. Also I use pledge wax on the windshield regularly, so they come off easily unless you let them bake on for days.

I use windex, but let it soak for a couple minutes.

Meguairs Quick Detailer and microfiber cloths works for me unless the bugs are really bad and I use the wet towel method to soften them.Lemon Pledge also works well.

Freak the Pledge! Go to Dollar General and get the cheap lemon furniture polish. like the cheapskate I am. It polishes the bugs as well as that Pledge stuff dose at a fraction of the price. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

I soak a towel in hot water and then lay it on the windscreen for 15 minutes. Usually most stuff comes off. If it doesn't, I'll use a little windex after that.

+1. a long soak followed by soap and water followed by cleaning with all-kleer which gets her ready for the next ride.

When I have lots and lots of bugs, I spray water on the shield, then get a dryer towel like Bounce, wet it and then wipe the critters off, dry and use polish of your choice, I prefer Plexus, other use Pledge etc etc

hydrogen peroxide. spray on after a ride, watch the bugs bubble up and then wash as usual. no elbow grease needed, no harm to finish, been using for yrs.

Pledge is safe for your windshield.I also use Stoners glass cleaner(Walmart Automotive Dept.)It is one of the only glass cleaners that is safe for tinted windows and does a great job on my windshield without damaging the coating.

I soak a towel in warm water and let it set for a few minutes on the windshield. I then take the towel off and with a drop of Dawn dish detergent on each finger, I rub gently until I have washed the entire surface. And then I rinse and buff with a clean microfiber towel. I haven't made a scratch or swirlling marks yet.

Just wait for it to rain real hard and go for a ride! :-)

I also use the "soaked towel over the shield" method to get rid of bugs and then polish it up with lemon pledge or the Honda Polish (but that honda polish is expensive stuff...). Just don't let your wife catch you throwing a towel full of bugs into the wash with the other towels!
