Battery finally died

Well I guess its time. I've been trying to make it another summer on the battery but it just isn't going to happen. I was going to ride the bike to work yesterday, got the jacket and helmet on turned on the key, and the fuel pump sounded different. When I hit the starter switch it just clicked. Already ordered a new one from my car mechanic buddy. The battery is coming from CarQuest. Not sure of the brand yet, but he said its the type of battery the can be installed at different angles and I don't have to worry about leaks. Doesn't sound like a gel though. Most CarQuest batteries have a 3 year coast to coast warranty. He's giving it to me at his cost of $82.00. I pick it up Monday and hopefully get to do some riding.

Hate to hear the battery quit on you. Glad you have another one on the way.

It sounds like an AGM battery, Thats the best to install since the acid won't leak out.

If it is the original battery in that 2004 I would say you got your moneys worth. :)

Steve, interesting information on the batteries. AGM sounds like the way to go. Read up on it on the Wikpedia and definitely a must for cold weather applications and great for motorcycles. I just replaced my battery in my 04 before it started causing me trouble .I replaced it with a interstate AGM I got from my dealer at A cost of $82.00 that must be the going price.
