I have the Dunlop Elite 3 front and back. I really like them and with almost 5,000 miles on the rear and about 4,000 on the front I can't see any wear at all. Also made in USA.

I have a Dunlop 404 on the front of mine. Good tire and wear like iron.

I run Avon Cobras.
I had Elie 3's on and they were good tires as well. The rear tire was noisey but the front was fine.

I like the D404 as well, especially the price.

On a 1500, I would probably go with the D404s also. I have a friend with an '03, and he swears by them.

I have a E-3 on front. My new 2010 nomad with 1500 miles picked up a screw in front bridgstone. Changed to Dunlop and maybe it's my imagination, but a huge difference in handling (for the better) going to the E-3.

Avon Cobras front and rear. Only been on since April so I can't say anything about wear yet, but the Nomad is like a new bike with them.
have had the OEM bridgerocks, and Dunlop D404's in the past. Last front was a bridgerock that cupped pretty badly, so last Wednesday I had a Metzler ME880 mounted in prep for the rally trip. So far I like the way it rides.

I got about 12,000 out of the original Bstones. Didn't like the noise. I put Metz 880's on, I have been happy with their performance. I will try something else next time to see if there is something better. Some people have had bad luck with the Metz, but I haven't.
