View Full Version : Our first video ride.

Ok so since todd started the the ball rolling on this. Why not I'm in. I just got my ram mount camera adpater in last week. We wanted to test it out so the wife and I just went out for a small ride and tested it for taking pic's on the fly and shooting video with our plain ole Canon Powershot A520 Digital camera. Ok the sound is bad becasue it's taking wind in the face of the camera. Its mounted on the handlebars but not behind the windsheild but right next to it. Not to bad for a $250/two year old camera... Also I noticed that webshots tends to degrade the video image alot (compress) because here on my computer it's crystal clear on web shots not so hot but you all get the idea of what it is and the terrain. My wife is running in front of me on her 06 900LT. She says she will mount the camera on her ride next time so folks can see my mean green nomad machine work the corners http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif. LOLOLOL Enjoy all..

Hey VC,

I mounted mine on the handlebars yesterday and got quite a bit of shaking coming up to speed on the video...once up to speed it seemed pretty good......do you experience that?

Todd Hmmm not really. Mine seem pretty good all the way up to speed but like you once you do get it set at a good pace it seemed to work better. Where on your bars do you have it mounted Todd? By the way I just picked myself up a 2GB card for like $19.99 from office depot yesterday for my camera. I went from being able to take 267 High res pics with 512MB to 999+ pics. My camera cant go past 999(lol) But now I can shoot alot of video and not worry about space as much... did you post your video anywhere?

Mounted in the middle of the bars behind the shield and I did not post because it was just riding around the roads here near the house and the quality wasnt really good......I'll keep messing with it.....I have 1 GB in my cam...may think about another card since the price keeps dropping.

Todd, They may be the reason why it's so all over the place is becasue of where you mounted it??? I have mine mounted pretty close to my clutch resevoir. Like I said I use it mainly for my cup holder but switch it out for my camera. My thought is that I get less vibration the further up the handle bars you go. (just a thought) ???
