Kuryakyn iso grips with the iso throttle boss on them. Most every place that sells bike accessories have them. very easy to install yourself. i dont use the glue that comes with them, i use cheap hairspray. yes i believe they do make a difference, but even so, relax your grip. if you decide to keep the oem grips, at least put a Cramp Buster on them.

Most motorcycle shops either carry them or can order them. It's been a few years but I believe the grips and the throttle boss cost about $70.00-$80.00

Look at the Avon grips. They make some similar to the Kury ISO grips and look better in my opinion.

What's up with the Throttle Boss on them? I understand what they are for, but how do you use them? Never had them. What do you do, rest your wrist on them so you can flex your fingers? Are they even worth paying the extra for them on the grips? Do they get in the way of the regular throttle twisting?

Yes, the throttle boss allows you to rest your grip on the throttle by resting the palm of your hand on the throttle boss. i have not found that they get in the way. had a Cramp Buster brand before and that did get in my way, and was always slipping.

You can't beat the Kury grips, they are popular, but comfortable.

I have the Kury flame grips. I had them thrown in on the deal when I bought the bike. Later I added the throttle boss and I did feel that it was in the way. However, gadget's page suggested to turn it to the outside. Now, it allows me to relax my grip and straighten out my hand or move my fingers.

I have bad wrists and my hands fall asleep holding a mug of coffee. I use the stock grips and a 10 dollar throttle rocker. I barely hold anything and still my hands go to sleep. Too much spinin' wrenchs and hard work I guess does this.

I also use snug fitting gloves and some of them work better than others.

I also have a vista cruise less it ugly clamp and bar, but roads here are twisted and i don't get a lot of use of that device. Only on a big highway can I use that longer term.

I really like my Kury Transformer grips. I was going to get ISOs at a rally from their onsite store but when I saw the then-new Transformers I went that way. Very cool looking and comfortable too. http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/3766/Transformer-Grips
I have the throttle boss made for them too, very nice touch.

I don't believe grips help. The Kury grips are an exercise in form and there is nothing remotely scientific there that addresses numb hands. There may be ways to address vibration in handle bars/grips, but this ain't it. The next thing you know we'll be buying chromed deer whistles. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif

I really do prefer the larger diameter and the bit of cushioning over the skinny hard stock grips, but to each his own. Still, I always wear gloves and have the tan to prove it!

I wear gloves too and not the fingerless type either. I bought a pair for the 800 I had and it was an exercise in form over function. If you want a larger diameter grip, get grip puppies, they are cheaper.

It one's hands go numb, then other means need to be applied. Some people try Bar Snake, while some bikes you need to use something like The Pounder from Manic Salamander, which is a heavier end weight. No matter what bike I have owned and what grips I had, my hands get numb.

I used to have a problem for about 15 -20 years, where after a few miles, my left are would go numb. I think I had a slight, pinched nerve or something, so when my arm was in that position would go numb.

What do the grip end weights do? Never understood what they were for.

Manic Salamander (http://www.manicsalamander.com/products/app-finder/app-finder-detail.aspx?size=Pounder&finish=Stainless&type=Weight)

I have more than a pinched nerve now. It's what they call cervical radiculopathy and stenosis. They say I should have three vertebre fused. If that were all, I might be ok, but even by their estimation, I'd have to have more done 5-10 years after that. Not fun. Right now I am ignoring it.

Well I don't have hairy office knuckels a bit.... I thought because my knuckels are hair less it made me a knuckel dragger. My wife thinks I am, and because of that she does what I say.

Bikes come a long way before any cherry coffee tables around here. Living in a different apt I got to use the shower as a paint booth too, and the bed for a sanding bench with 400 grit wet papers. The only problem with her is if I buy a new gun.

Then shes says Oh that's a nice Ruger Super Black Hawk and in .44 mag too! Is it for me??? Is it pre bible? Want to trade the Kimber you bought last time, for this specimen? When do I get to try it out?

I find this pretty upsetting myself..............

And then the tomahawk comes out to 'soak' in the toliet for trainning purposes only, till she settles down!

Well getting his and her guns is a little expensive. I envy guys who are smart enough to not fill the gun cabinet. Their wives only can tell if the cabinet is full that a new gun comes in the house. So long as there is a couple empty slots she never knows a thing...

I guess the last time we had any harsh words was back in Spring 05. There was tons of stress getting out of an apt, taking care of every detail before the USA Tour, and on that day I found every blasted camera I had bought before I ever knew her, somehow at once all became hers... http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Stress comes from too many projects, and one was the bike trailer and not even having a bike to pull it with at that time. More was loading the truck to take to a storage unit, and blowing a brake line going down the hill out the drive.... weeeeeeeeeeee

Stress comes from not telling the MFers in one's life to go to hell and screw off. It's taking the poison and hoping the other guy dies.

Joe, if your hands are going numb try moving the angle of the bars a little. It may just be the angle you are holding your wrist. I had the same issue and found that angling the bars down a little helped.

Have you tried to hold the grip with just your fingers? It keeps the palm of your hand of the grip. Takes getting used to but takes pressure of the nerve that makes your hand go numb.

For myself, I find that just delays it. So instead of going numb in 10 minutes, it's 20 minutes, although if I am careful, it's easier to tolerate and literally shake off.
