For me and after a hundred fifty miles, no matter what seat I'm on, I'm never getting to heaven. What brings you to Pittsburgh?

Visiting my brother in Cranberry Township, gonna do some riding together, also riding down to Cincy to visit an old Air Force buddy. Any suggestions on good rides in the area?

I did 650 miles one day on my stock 1500 Nomad seat. My butt felt like it "went to heaven", that is that it died first, then went to heaven.
Actually, as long as my tail bone doesn't hurt I can ride all day on the stock seat.

Pat,
I live about 15 minutes from Cranberry Township, a lot of nice riding up there. In fact, when I go riding I usually head that way. Just pick any small rode and go North, West or East, they're all nice. About 5 miles north of Cranberry is a little town called Zelienople (pronounced - Zee Lee In Opal). There is a little bar where you can get food there, it's called 3 B's, which stands for 2 Brothers and a Banker. The family has owned it since the '60's. The food is fantastic, order either the fish sandwich or the Pittsburgh Steak Salad. Either one of them will blow you away. The fish sandwich you'd think comes off the side of a whale it's so huge.
A little west of Zelienople is a motorcycle clothing shop, called "Lutz Leather". Fantastic place, has a ton of stuff, family owned and is a nice ride from Cranberry. It's probable 20 - 25 minute ride from Cranberry. Great prices on stuff, if nothing else, stop in and maybe you'll find something you've been looking for. It's at:

If you've never been in this area before, you HAVE to go downtown Pittsburgh to what is called the 'Strip District' to a place to eat that is called 'Primanti's". Tell your brother you want to go to the ORIGINAL place for the true experience. Get a sandwich, they're famous here in the Pittsburgh area. Philadelphia has the Philly Cheese Steak, we have Primanti's. My favorite is the Corned Beef, everything on it. Load it up with hot sauce and once you bite into it, don't set it down till your done, as it will fall apart. If you don't want to go to the original Primanti's, there's one out in Cranberry, but the branches just aren't the same. The original is open 364 days a year, 24 hours a day. I think it only shuts down one day and that's for Christmas.
If you want to be flabbergasted, just north of Cranberry is a Indian Dealership. Stop in and look at the bikes, then ask them what the prices are. Beautiful bikes, but what they're asking for them, they better be and also have a magic tank that never needs gas.
If you go riding down around Cincinnati area, head south-east in Kentucky. Eastern Kentucky has fantastic small, curvy, hilly roads. You'd think they were just made for motorcycles.
I'll PM you my cell number. If you want to hook up with another bike with your brother for a ride, give me a call.

I have been to Lutz's, picked up a few items.
Thanks for the info on the places to grab some grub, I will definitely check them out.
On past trips out we rode down to Ohiopyle area and up to Alleghany National Forest, and across to Skyline Drive
This time out I was thinking about checking out Ohio Route 170, Calcutta to Poland. One of the top 15 from a post in the rides section. Then just kinda wonder around and see where we end up.
I'll touch base once I am out there.

Well I would not say my butt felt like it went to heaven, but the Ultimate was not bad either.
9.5 hours in the seat, minus gas stops, comfortable.
4 or 5 trips ranging from 3 to 6 hours each, comfortable
10.5 hours coming home, comfortable.
All told about 1900 miles in the last week, no complaints. Now and then I felt the need to shift my weight a bit, but if I sat on my couch for long periods I would feel the same way.

I have the Daylong seats. I dont think it matters what seats you have, no seat is going to make you totally comfortable to the point that you can ride 1000 kms a day and not be saddle sore to some degree.
