I watched a 1971 Documentary about three guys who went from Denver to Panama over a four month trip. They started off going off road then ended up in a commune (its 1971 remember) Did some grass, girls and nude motorcycling as well as some nice off-road sand-buggystyle riding and jumping. Then off to a ski resort for some downhill. They traded bikes from a Thumper(not sure what that is but it looked to be a 200CC or so two cycle) to three 175CC Kawasakis and continued down to Mexico for some serious beach camping skin diving and flat track racing (did you know you could pay as much as $1500 for one of those racing machines. ) After a visit to a rent-a-girl establishment they kept on heading south until they finally ended up in Panama and hitched a ride on a banana boat back to the states.
I found it rather entertaining and interesting how somethings never change. They mentioned that they enjoyed the off-road riding since they didn't have to listen to some little old lady saying "I'm sorry I didn't see you." And when they stopped for a motocross race they had to sit with the HOG riders since their bikes couldn't compete with the MX bikes.
Anyway if you get a chance you should watch it. You can learn interesting facts like if you decide to ride down the center of a railroad track for a few miles 25 MPH is the magic speed. Faster and you can wreck but slower and it will beat you to death.
