View Full Version : Headset/Headphone/Intercom system Question
Just picked up a Scala 2 pro system from newenough.com for $160. This thing is awesome, allows my girlfriend and I to talk at conversational levels at 65+ MPH. Only problem I have found is that with a mp3 player plugged into it the volume for the music is far to low to hear. Does anyone have any experience with some kind of booster for the volume that I could put in between. Thanks

i have an in line amp that i picked up from aerostitch that does very well...cant remember what i paid but it was around $60. works really well, even comes with a splitter so you and the passenger can use but you have to buy the longer cord for the passenger.

Check out the "Boosteroo". It's a small battery powered inline amp.
I have the same unit and the volume for the mp3 hook up sucks. I put some backing behind the speakers to move them as close as possible to my ears and that helped a bit.

I know you did this but just in case, did you turn your Ipod up to its maximum volume? ;)
I used a Boosteroo when I listened to my mp3 player through helmet speakers. I still have one somewhere, PM me if you'd like one cheap and I'll try to find it.

+1 ... my home system has to have the MP3 volume turned up to MAX also. If you just plug it in and play, you can't hear the sound, but turn up the volume on the MP3 and then the system, and it's loud and clear!
I'd check that before I bought any extras. :)

The Boostaroo will do the trick.
