I bought a Utopia backrest just before riding season started up here. Yesterday I finally got the bike out for a decent ride to have lunch (400 kms each way). Can't express enough how great this back rest is!! Normally after a couple of hours my back is a little sore, but coming home (4 hrs straight) I rode non stop with just a quick stop to fill up (5 mins) and my back didn't bother me at all. Most importantly I felt refreshed and alert the entire trip.

A while back someone created a post asking what was your favourite modification, well I need to change mine to my Utopia backrest!!!! If you have been thinking about getting a backrest (I did for 2 years) but just haven't got around to it, do yourself a favor and get one. What a difference

Brian

PS love me new Avon Cobras too :-)

Note - okay technically I didn't ride "non stop" for 4 hours but it was close enough. Figured I better add that note as I know someone was sure to point it out :-)

My Mustang has a back rest and it is one of the best comfort add on you can make.

Yup, I concur. I've been riding with backrests on my bikes since 1988, and wouldn't be without one. Only exceptions were on my ST1300 and VStom where you lean forward just enough that a backrest doesn't do you any good. Wouldn't be without one.
