My new Ultimate seat has arrived, which according to the instructions, requires that I use the mounting hardware from the original seats. Problem, I have a Corbin Dual tourer seat on my 02 which is one piece seat and appears to have different hardware. I have ordered the parts below from the dealer, but was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Want to make sure I am not missing anything.
Thanks

I would call Ultimate and let them know that you need more than their standard evaluation period while you wait for mounting hardware. I tried the ultimate seat and while I liked it initially, after about 60 miles I wanted off. Ann wanted off even earlier.

@ landman and petenomad, Only time will tell.
Got it mounted, but I think I am still missing a bracket on the front of the passenger seat. Dealer says I have everything, but the seat has two studs that are doing nothing right now and there is a threaded hole in the fender just below the studs makes me wonder.

Don't know without seeing it but sure seems like there should be a bolt for the threaded hole.

Sounds like your still missing a bracket for the back seat to me as well. Id give Ultimate a call and see what they say.

We are both fairly heavy and the type of foam that they use just didn't feel too good after a while. We both felt that it developed uncomfortable pressure points and for the price it needed to be a lot better than what we already had. We had previously had our stock seat reworked with foam and gel from MeanCity Cycles. They also widened the passenger seat and the Ultimate seat was narrower than this.
We sent this back and then tried beads. I used these for about 200 miles and sent them back as well. We now have Russell Day-Long but the weather hasn't really been cooperating yet, so I can't give you an honest opinion on it yet. W'eve only been able to get out for about 100 miles on this but it is definitely getting a thumbs up from the wife. It is going to take a bit of getting used to as the extra support wings on it don't let me get my feet to the ground quite as easily.
The "Ultimate" seat was nearly $900 and we had our Russell made, covered in leather for a few hundred dollars more. Here the actual structure of the seat is changed to spread out the weight in order to eliminate pressure points. The Russell is what we really wanted, but we also wanted instant gratification, so we took a chance on the Ultimate. Sending it back was definitely the right choice for us.

Glenn, I had the same issue with not being able to get my feet flat on the ground after installing the Russell seat. Just scoot forward a little and your thighs will get past the wings. Just takes a little getting used to.

The instructions from Ultimate say there is a bracket on the stock seat that I am supposed to remove and install on the new Ultimate seat. Problem is my bike had the corbin on it when I bought it, I have never seen a stock seat to see what is on it.
Did your 02 have the stock seat when you bought it?

petenomad, thanks for the explaination. To be honest I was confused, what else is new, I was thinking Russell Day Long when you said Ulitimate. That's why I was suprised you did not like it.
