No, but leave a gel cushion out on a sunny day and it will be like riding on a hot frying pan. They absorb heat and hold it a long time.

I have a sheepskin, real one not the synthetic crap, that I sometimes bring along for longer rides.

It's surprisingly amazing how cool it is in the hot sun http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif and during cooler spring and autumn rides its warm ::)
Not sure why but that's the way it works.

The only thing is it makes you sit on top of the seat not in the seat, and looks good on the ride

I have 4,000+ miles on my gel pad and it does not increase the heat. I have sheap skin cover with memory foam and it actually makes the ride cooler not warmer and I can ride much longer without butt fatigue. I recommend it as one of the best things I have purchased for my comfort second only to the taller and wider windshield. It also makes my possition perfect with the four inch taller windshield it is a total of 2" thick.

This is all very interesting. I do have sheepskin laying around from old car seat covers I had. Air Hawk, gel pad, sheepskin, Sargeant, Day-Long, original, sounds like a good poll to take if someone wants to set one up.

I went with the airhawk seat cushion. Could not be happier with the decision. You can adjust it to fit you and does not hold heat.
