OK, a question came up today from a friend who traded his H-D Sporty for a new H-D Softail Classic. I don't hold it against him though. He almost bought a Voyager while he was deciding. I told him he'd get more bike for the money but I guess a shiny name won out.

Anyway, we were wondering if the mystical powers of Gremlin Bells transfer from one bike to another? He left his on the Sporty when he traded it as he forgot about them. (He had two)

We decided that it would be best to present him with a new bell, just in case. We would like to know for future reference and to satisfy our curiosity though.

Thanks All!

Russ

Your friend had better go and get those bells off that bike! It's bad luck for the next owner. And if something happens to that person, it comes 10 fold on the original owner that put them on there. I've seen lots of wrecked bikes with the bells on them. And I thought, those are a waste of money. And then I heard that the bikes with bells that crash are always a second owner.

I say the bell goes with the bike. Theres a symbiotic relationship there.

The Gremlin bell is a gift from one person to another. You should keep it as a remembrance whether you put it on another bike or not.

I transferred an old one I had from one bike to another, three times. I accidentally forgot it and let it go with the last bike

Considering that the luck only works if the bell is given to you by a friend, it has to stay with you to keep the luck up... SO GO GET YOUR BELL!

I had one, but it fell off somewhere a couple years ago.

I say try and find the guy that bought it and see if you can get them back. Don't think the good luck will transfer to the new owner.

I say he should go get his bell. I almost drove off with the bell on my Nomad when I bought it form the previous owner. Thank goodness I noticed the thing hanging from the handle bar. When I gave it to him he thanked me profusely and told me it was a gift from his young daughter.

The next owner might not know who to get it back to, or he could leave somebody wondering about it. Beside that, it wont hurt to ask and I'll bet anything he'll get it back. Those bells have meaning behind them and are gifts from somebody that thought enough about you to spend 2or 3 dollars on you. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif
