This is how my shop handles tire warranty and according to them all tire manufactures are the same. They remove the tire and they send it back for warranty inspection. I pay for the shipping!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/angry.gif:(" title=">:(" border="0"/> The manufacture determines if they want to warranty it or not and how much they'll pay you. If any warranty claim is paid; they credit that to the shop and the shop pays you back. Now if you want your scooter on the road before all this warranty is completed you have to buy another tire; which of course includes taxes; etc.. My shop will not charge me for remount or balancing.
Sooooo until the warranty thing is complete I'll have close to $430 tied up in a Avon Cobra rear tire. Note: I also reordered the same Avon Cobra Tire as I feel their good tires; for now anyway. ALL tire manufactures now and then spit out a bad tire.

So Mel (at D&D Cycles in Mesa) thinks it's a defective tire, then?

Boy, that's a hell of a warranty ::) I can see why they handle it that way, though. I think you'll get your money back.

Not the most impressive response to a problem... I would have thought that buying a top dollar tire might have some good support too. Those Shinko 747 tires are looking pretty good for the next go-round.
