Well at 87,300 miles I figured it was time to do some work on the bike, here's what I done:
1. Kenda Kruz 673 tires on the front and back
2. Replaced the fork oil seals
3. Brakes all the way around
4. Installed a Dynatek CDI box.

Now at almost 88,000 miles I'm starting to form an opinion on what I did, my thoughts:
1. Tires are great. It's like riding a whole new beast. She takes turns like never before. I will buy these again when the time comes.
2. Fork seals, what can I say. No leaks yet.
3. The Kevlar brakes although they look very tiny do a good job.
4. The CDI box, I'm still trying to figure this one out. There are about 5 different settings on it that I can use, I just need to toy with it and find the best one for the bike.

The good thing is, she still cruises at <s>80</s>, I mean 65mph and she still has some get up and go left in her.

Sounds like you did a great job. Nothing like working on your own stuff. Congratulations on a job that sounds like it was done well.

Why did you install a CDI box?

I didn't realize they made a '99 that required a fuel control module? Weren't they are carb bikes?

The CDI box is an ignition module that controls the spark and timing. We used to change them when we raced snowmobiles to get a advance curve in the timing.

Keep us updated on the Kendra tires.

Keep your eyes on those kevlar brakes; I put them on my HD figuring they would stand up better and they were totally worn out at about 5000 miles. I'll never do them again, stock pads only.

Thanks for the comments.

Caddman, I'll keep an eye on them, thanks.

I put the CDI box on because the stock one would cause the bike to die at times. It would start right back up if I was at a stoplight and if I was riding it would backfire. A factory replacement would have been $360, this one was only $250 and I can change the settings. The '99 is a carbed model, I was just thinking that with the V&H pipes, the hypercharger, and a Thunder Mfg. jet kit, this would be a nice addition to "wake" up the engine a little. Like I said, still trying to tinker with that.
