I ordered a "YUASA YTX20CH-BS High Performance Maintenance Free Battery YUAM6220C" from Battery Mart (through Amazon).

They shipped me a Power PS Sonic Super Sport Series PTX20chBS. Made in China. I am sure it was intentional.

Nothing on the box or on the battery makes me think the battery is made by Yuasa.

What would you do? Anyone else run into this with Battery Mart?

I would research the battery first, then contact Battery Mart to find out what is going on. i.e. Did they accidentally ship me the wrong battery.

Yes I would be checking with them. Explain what you ordered and what you received. I would definitely check the battery out. I just don't like that made in China thing.

Plugged in the battery information and it came up with the below listed information. Says it is by Yuasa. Sold by Battery Mart. I would definitely contact Battery Mart. You order the Yuasa YTX20CH-BS and it becomes YUAM6220C.

I skimmed this off the Yuasa website.

Tell them you wanted a battery made in the USA, not in China or someplace else. Your trying to help the American economy, not China's.

Sounds like Yuasa likes to say Made In America, but make them wherever they like.

Like the others have stated, I'd get in touch with them and see what the deal is. I ordered my battery through them and had no issues with it, but this seems a little sketchy to me. Since you ordered through Amazon, you may have to go through them, but hopefully not. I'm not sure how that works. Let us know what you find out.

Hi schoeney,

First, I'd like to be upfront and state that I am an employee of Battery Mart. I came across this thread this morning. I hope it's not a problem for the members of this forum that I reply here. If so, my apologies!

I apologize for sending you the incorrect battery. We receive batteries from multiple vendors, and it appears that you were shipped the Powersonic battery by mistake. I see that you've sent us a message via Amazon last night, so we'll handle getting you the battery that you ordered through there, as is Amazon's policy. I just checked our warehouse myself and verified that we do have the Yuasa Motocross battery in stock.

And, the big reason I wanted to try and reach out to you here: a lot of times when we send Amazon customers return labels, Amazon's automated systems remove the attachment. If this happens, please let us know. You can give our Returns Dept. a call at 800-405-2121, option 3. If that doesn't work for you, we also have a contact form you can use on our website (http://www.batterymart.com/c-contact-us.html). We'll work out another method of getting the label to you so we can get this resolved.

Thank you, and again, I apologize for the mistake.

Schoeney,

Did you mention KawaNOW in the email you sent to Battery Mart? I'm just wondering how Derek "stumbled upon" this thread? Looks like he just joined here today.

Sounds like they are going to do the right thing and replace the incorrect battery with the one you ordered. These days, good customer service is an increasingly rare thing. I'll keep Battery Mart in mind the next time I need one.

Derek,

I can't speak for all the members but I love it when a motorcycle vendor takes the time to interact with it's customers on our website. Someone (you?) obviously understands the power of the internet and monitors Battery Mart's reputation. Pretty impressive.

Your man Anthony actually phoned me this morning to follow up and also give me the option to keep the battery I have at a discount (I declined because the original Yuasa-Made In USA battery I had lasted 8 years and is still working well).

Anthony is shipping the correct battery out today and is emailing me a return label for the other one. Thanks for the amazing response, I still am not sure how you connected me to this website but I am glad you did.

I am sure our members that followed this thread will have a good impression of Battery Mart . I will be buying my car and bike batteries from Battery Mart in the future as well.

Thanks
Greg

CJ...no I didn't mention KawaNow and I didn't even mention what make or model bike it was for.....like I say pretty impressive!

What may be more impressive is all of this transpired in the last 12 hours. I sent my first email notifying them last night at 8:47pm PST.

I think it shows an understanding of the power and reach of social networking. You gripe on here and so far over 100 people have seen this and we will all need a battery at some point. Now we have info to help make a reasonable decision.

Greg,

Glad to hear that everything got worked out. Anthony mentioned that he had gotten hold of you over the phone. Thanks for giving us the chance to correct our mistake!

To be more specific about how I found this thread: As has been mentioned, I do my best to keep aware of our reputation. I don't want to give away all my ninja secrets (haha), but there are tools to help me find places where we get mentioned, and generally pretty swiftly.

Again, I'm glad we got the chance to work together to get you what you wanted. And, I'd like to thank this forum for giving me the chance to reach out here and for all the kind comments. Much appreciated!

Who else is watching, I think Kawasaki is watching, they put the bags most of us like on the Vaquero. If we are loud enough maybe the next generation Nomad will come with side opening bags?

Other than the labeling on the out side, I doubt you'll be able to tell any difference. Most times the difference is on the quality of the inside parts and connections.
On another note, the quality of customer service is getting to be a thing of the past, and I for one would rather do business with an outfit that has good customer service, even if it costs a FEW dollars more. My hats off to battery mart, and if I were in need of a battery, they would probably be my first choice now. I'm in the process now (waiting) on getting a new custom seat. I decided on one from Diamond Custom Seats, ordered it on January 31, and should have it by the end of the month (they build them one at a time based on the customer's specific requirements, both pans and all). Mark, the guy that does this, is in the same group of people that I consider in my "Excellent Customer Service" category. When I get my new seat, I'll start a new thread about it.
Cheers,
Cliff

Here is the final outcome on this.

I received the Motocross battery by YUASA (Made in the USA) as promised right away. It arrived ready to install (no need to add anything) and fully charged.

I also wondered about the "Motocross" name so I emailed YUASA to ask them about it and I received the response below. Even though she said it could be made overseas mine was made in the USA according to the label on the battery. I am very happy...now I just need to install it.

Dear Greg,

Thank you for your recent email inquiry! Battery Mart does purchase from us. The Motocross batteries are a house brand of Yuasa. It is made to meet the same specs but sometimes are made at some of our factories overseas!

Thank you,

Tammy Cooper

Gotta give Battery Mart A+ marks for customer service especially that they stepped up when things were not right. A true mark of a good company and a great asset they have in there staff who monitors and ensures there reputation remains to be stellar.

I would consider them on my next Battery purchase and would confidently recommend them to others.

Glad it worked out and things were corrected so quickly and efficiently http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif.

Battery arrived, and installed. Fixed my issues. It was the MotoCross one as well. Also Made in America. Nothing bad to say about BatteryMart. Make sure when you order one, you navigate off the site before making the purchase. You will be prompted to save $4.81 on your order. Just click accept and save some. Found that out after I didn't buy it the first day I looked.
