I really like the look of that Vaquero on the front of the flyer. It looks good with the passenger backrest and the bag rails. I have yet to see one in person.

I'll say one thing, "Kawasaki is Proud of Their Accessories "

That's a pretty impressive list of accessories! ::)
Even more impressive is the price Kawasaki has attached to these accessories. The windshield prices are highway robbery.

Very nice bike and an impressive list of accessories. Prices are way out of line, by the time that you get the bike as it should be you are in H.D. price range.

Thats an old price list. Go to www.kawasaki.com (http://www.kawasaki.com) and check out the accessory list for the Vaquero. A lot of accessory prices have dropped, especially the floorboards.

Those prices are a lot better, Jim. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif Looks like they only offer a 12" replacement windshield? Still pricey, but better than the older price list.

The list I received was sent to me Monday 2/21/11. Doug at Freedom Cycle said he had just gotten it that morning.
I like the official Kawasaki site prices better.

Here's my pet peev and almost every motorcycle manufacturer does it. Why do they sell "mounting hardware" seperate from a backrest. Why would I want a backrest without the mounting plates? Just sell me what I need to a backrest on my bike!

I can't speak for other manufacturers, but I think Kawasaki has other plans for the mounting kit. Rumor has it that they are currently developing a solo seat for the Vaquero for those that want a solo touring bike. In addition they will offer a solo luggage rack that goes where the passenger pillion currently resides, and it will be a quick disconnect design that attaches to the mount kit. You will be able to go from 2 up tourer to solo tourer within minutes. I get the feeling that Kawasaki has big plans for this bike and more accessories will follow...

Good freakin' GOD!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif
$280 for a GPS mount? Top saddlebag rails for $300? Saddlebag side rails for $330.00?? http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif ???
That list right there, regardless of anything else, would keep me from buying a Vaquero.
Holy crap...

That is almost as bad as BMW, which stands for Bring More Wompum. I guess Kawasaki is betting people will spend more for their stuff. If you have the part numbers, try going to Ron Ayers, http://www.ronayers.com/, and see if the prices are any different. He's usually cheaper.

The bag rail prices aren't that much different than current Nomad parts.

I'd be interested in that solo luggage rack for my '08 Nomad. Are the two fenders compatible?

Now I know why I Love my Nomad (at least it came with passenger boards a backrest) and I think I'll be sticking with it for a long while.

I wouldn't assume that they are.
If you want a solo rack for an '08, find one for a 1985-2003 Harley Sportster. I paid less than $35 for mine (brand new) off eBay. Obviously not quick-disconnect like the proposed one for the Vaquero.
Personally, I'd like to see a tourpak available for the Vaquero. That might be just the push I need to really consider one.

God, this is funny! I had an R90 and a K75. If memory serves me correctly the k-bike has a tank bage, BMW of course, that cost in the hundreds. Of course, you had to buy the mount, which was like a bra or mask that strapped to the tank, then the tang bank zipped onto that. Guess the Gerrys hadn't heard of magnets, yet.
