View Full Version : My old Honda Magna featured in video...
In the past, I've told several of you the story about my 1998 Honda Magna that I bought in 2001 and fixed up and then sold in 2005. The woman that bought it lived in Vancouver, BC. She flew from Vancouver to Texas to pick it up and rode it back to Vancouver. She did it to raise money for various charities in her community. Well, she recently came out with a video produced by their local cable tv channel, that features the 1998 Magna that I fixed up with a western theme.... I nicknamed it "Paladin". The following video is long but in it you'll see my old bike and a few pics of me. With the exception of a clock that she's added on the windshield, the bike is still exactly how I had it accessorized when she bought it.

Cool Video and a very nice looking Honda Magna. Did she get your cowboy hat along with the bike? http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

The bike still looks good, she must be taking good care of it. It looked like it only had 45k on the speedo so far.

Neat story, and very nice looking bike. I watched the first one, but not the second...did she raise the funds she hoped for?

Love the Magnas. I started off on an 87 V65 while in the Navy. They will definitely "excite you." :)

I had an 83 V65, fast and comfortable. They say the bike looked like it was designed by putting magnets on the bike and riding it threw a junk yard. It wasn't the prettiest bike but I loved it!
My first bike was a 1983 V45. Loved that bike...then I bought the 1998.

Same here. 1983 V45 Magna. That thing was quick. Wish I had some photos of it.
Pretty gutsy little lady making that trip solo.

I had a '83 V65 purpleish. Windscreen, nylon bags and highway bar. Owned it for ever. Great bike. Wish I still had it.
But I thought the V65 was discontinued in '85?
I think Honda discontinued the V65 and V45 in 1986. In 87 and 88 they had the Super Magna. They discontinued the Magna all together until 1994??? Then they came out with the 3rd generation Magna.
Below are pics of me on my V45 and 3rd Generation Magna.
My 1983 V45 Magna nicknamed "Maverick". Circa 1997.

My 1998 Magna with me at the Tetons in 2004. Nicknamed "Paladin". This is the bike I sold in the video.

Thanks for the info on the Magna, I had forgotten about the Super Magna.
I once bought a T-Shirt from someone in Texas, SAB-MAG.
I used to be a member of Sab-Mag. I am also one of the founders of MOOT... Magna Owners Of Texas. http://www.magnaownersoftexas.com
But, it's been a while since I had anything to do with it.

Trip, now we have to start a teen fan club. This could be your big break. All kidding aside, that is a great bike.
