Today one of the members of our UMCI motorcycle group is celebrating his 89th birthday. Stoney still rides, although he has gone from riding big cruisers to a Burgman 400 scooter. Yet he still rides. Stoney served in the Marines in WWII as a fighter pilot, and again in Korea as a jet fighter pilot. After that he had a long career as an airline pilot.
So, here's to a true American hero! He served his country with hone and distinction, and since he doesn't fly anymore hie still rides, and riding a motorcycle is the closest thing there is to flying an airplane. We're having a little birthday party for him at the Boise Town Center mall during our weekly "old bikers" coffee get together on Wednesday. Stoney is still sharp, although he's getting a bit frail, but he's entitled to it at 89 years old.
