Has anyone tried a The Impact Gel Mile Buster cover ? I have a Corbin Dual Tour seat and I find the seat to firm for my rear end.

Ive never heard of that particular one, but having a gel pad, be aware that they can get very hot in the summer, especially if left on the bike in the sun. In my opinion they are not all they're cracked up to be.

I did some reading on their site and they are supposed to provide exceptional comfort for long rides. They are supposed to absorb shock distribute your weight. They are available with fleece covering, felt cover, or also available in raw gel form for personal customization. They sell for $65 or so if I rember correctly. If you happen to purchase one be sure and give us an update.

The $65 price is for small you have to add dollars for larger sizes.

That is what I heard also about gel pads. Mean City Cycles will install impact gel and 2" of memory foam. I just don't know about the gel and hot weather. I love everything about my seat except the firmness.

If I decide to get one I will give a update on it. I would get the XL .

You may have to give the Corbin a better chance, My pal has one and it is also very firm. After a while he got used to it and says its a great comfortable seat.
Or iof you really don't like it you could get some of the firm foam removed and replaced with something less dense, but Im not sure if you would like that better in the long run.

I would get one with a cover but they are still going to absorb a lot of heat when the bike is parked.

I put 3000 miles on the seat and it is not better for me . The butt section if fine its my crotch area that goes numb and gets sore. I know to much info.

I doubt the gel pad will help with that, You may need a different countered seat. It may be a trial and error until you find the right one.

Keep your hands out of there while your riding.

There is a place here in Tennessee at Vonore that will reconfigure your seat to fit you if your friend will be at the nationals he can go by there and the will figure what they have to do and he can ship the seat back to them to fix http://www.sports-drive.com/bike-seats/products

I had a Corbin on my Shadow ACE and it was very firm. I put it on a week before a 7,000 km trip, not the wisest move I have ever made :-( However, around the mid-point of the trip it was suddenly very comfortable. The seat either conformed to me or my butt conformed to the seat :-) Either way I loved it from that point on.

Rick; have you tried contacting Corbin directly and explaining your situation? They most likely have other customers that have been in your position and may have an answer.

I have been talking with Allen with Mean city seats and he can redo my seat and add Impact Gel with 2 " of memory foam. This mod will not change the seat position. I probable will let him do the seat.

I had my stocker cut and repacked with memory like foam. The shape looks more like those on the Classic, and the feel is 100% better. I also have 2 gel pads made by ProPad, the top is velvet like cloth covered. I am thinking of selling those. One for the front and one for the back seats. they're about 119.00 each and i think maybe 125.00 for both would be a handsome price for them, only used about 3 or 4 times, if anyone is interested.
