Don't you hate when you cross thread in a bolt. Those bolts that hold on the right side cover are soft threaded or maybe I am soft headed. So I am finalizing my new wiring harness changes and I am rushed to get the side cover on. Excuse right there.

That's when having easy outs and a tap and die kit comes in handy. I was surprised how calmly I took the mini-disaster. Got the bolt out with a bolt extractor and man those stock bolts are soft crap. I "tapped out" with a #6mmx1 and all is good now. I even found a replacement bolt in the box of spares.

Now, off to Mexico. Sun, tequila, Pacifico.

Glad you had the bolt extractor. Sounds like everything went smoothly.

Good that you fixed it easily. Some guys just force the bolt in and end up with a stripped out hole.
A few weeks ago I had my fairing off and when I was reassembling it three of the holes had to be chased with a tap.
That all came out nice but didn't feel right on the way back in.
Now all is good again.
