Is anyone going to Daytona Bike Week? Can anyone who has been comment of the festivities. It seems to be the earliest thing going on where you can get outta town and hit some warm weather and do some demos. I wouldn't mind taking it in, but wanted to see what you all thought. Most of the trip would be getting there and coming back, but would still be fun.

It's just 90 miles from me so I go 3 or 4 times each year. Sunday the 6th I will be at the Honda tent for a Goldwing riders get together.

Seems only fair that some one should set up a get together for the Nomad riders also. I am available anytime but that one Sunday as long as the temp makes it above 50 and it ain't raining.

Usually the test rides book up very quick so you want to be there that first Sat or Sun to sign up for them and often you will be looking at 2-3 days wait. There is a great pre bike week get together in Deland that we usually hit each year also.

I'm caging my brother and I over on the first Saturday. He doesn't have a bike down here and I don't think I can find one for him to use that day. I will be in Daytona on Friday, March 11 and probably on the 12th with the wife. If we want to set something up for the second Saturday, I'd be more than happy to arrange it.

I'll be starting a new job next week. I don't know my schedule yet. As always, I'm up for a get together. Keep me posted.

Just so we don't let this thing die I'll do another post.

I think a lot of people can't do the meet durring the week because of working. So I think it's got to be one of the two weekends. Also,I think most people try to go the first weekend.

So Ron, if you are coming over Saturday on the first weekend with your Brother do you want to make that the day we all meet? I know you won't be on your bike but.... if it's cold we will all just envy you anyway.

This is still on my radar. Going to depend on weather, leaving and coming back. Any advice on hotels? I will probably have to wait until very close so I am sure the ones nearby will be booked. I would not mind riding 1hr or so each day if I was that far away. I would still be in FL and would stay at the event most the day, so it would be all good.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it this year.

Anyone who hasn’t been needs to give it a try.

Some love it some hate it.

The girls in my sig pic are from last year’s (69th).

Me and my boys stayed pretty much sauced the entire time.
Sat. night, Main St on the rowdiest night of the year in the rowdiest place on earth and we got kicked out of a bar for being too rowdy!
Honest I only touched it I didn’t grab it!!!!!!
Have fun!!!!!!!

My brother will be riding subcloser's green on green over to Daytona.

I think the first Saturday, March 5, will be a good day for our meet and eat.

First to Cochees, If the weather is good, I bet it will be a challenge to find reasonably priced accomodations in Daytona area. You'll probably need to go over by Orlando or maybe Try St Augustine.
Second to Ron, cool that you and the bro will be on 2 wheels. So I say Sat 3/5 it is. Shall we meet at the Kawasaki tent? Maybe what we can do is have a 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM tire kicking session? Then have a KSU (kick stands up) departure time to the lunch location of exactly 12:30PM which means if you are going to arive at the tent after 12:30PM you should just come to the lunch location cause we will be gone. I know there was a little confusion about that last fall and we missed a couple people.
And if the tents are where they are usually, people can come back down the access road along the track and park in the space behind the tents? That will get most of into a group and help to avoid loosing someone. OK???

Dang Ross, you are the king of details. KSU 12:30 from the Kaw tent. We'll set a destination in the coming days.

Today I am all over the details, tomorrow I won't be able to remember what drawer my socks are in! That's what old age is like. Silver lining is that I get to make new friends over and over again with out having to meet anyone new!

Hey are you going to do another IBA thing durring bike week? I am going to try to make the MTF lunch on Friday but that is all.

Gator 1000 starts early on 10th. Going from Jax to Flamingo, FL and back. It will be a different type of SS1000 but fun. Mike is going to do it too but on his Connie.

Weather is looking good here for me to head out of town on Thurday potentially being there Friday night. Can anyone local finalize a meetup location for Saturday? I will keep you posted if anything changes on my end about making it.

Ron, Sorry to hear we'll miss you. Sorry even more because of the reason!

Well, here's what I am gonna try and do. Saturday March 5 I will ride down from Jax to the Daytona Speedway. I will try to be there by 11:30 AM. I will hang out till 12:30 PM and try to meet/collect other forum members that make it. Then we'll go eat some place.

I am open to suggestions on where we eat but Carribean Jack's at 721 Ballough Rd in Daytona Beach is always a safe bet?

I am coming down. Yesterday got the oils changed, and putting on a new tire today. Going to be fun. Leaving tomorrow and should be in town late friday. Not sure where I am staying, but if I wind up in St. Augustine, how much time should I allow for travel to meet you considering the traffic.

Does anyone have any info good/bad about camping in Daytona for this event. I have found numerous sites for $20, with showers, but not sure what that would be like. Just plan on sleeping there and riding most of the day anyway, so have been giving it some thought.

cheese, it's about an hour from St Aug to Daytona Speedway via I-95 with out any stops.
Wish I could help on the camping thing but all I can tell you is I hear some get pretty wild.

Jim <--- has family Saturday. If not raining Sunday will do SCRC at Down the Hatch on Sunday. The 12th several of us have tickets to the Daytona 200 http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

doesn't look like a big ride in for us this year...
