Just bought a perfect pair of V&H exhaust of Ebay for $265.00 shipped for my 1600 Nomad
After riding them yesterday for a 150 mile round trip, and a few other times, there just to quite
They barley bark, when you crack the throttle, and have a nice rumble at cruising speed, but man, aftermarket pipes should sound better then these!
They barley sound a little more then the stock exhaust drilled out
I guess I'm used to my VTX with BUBs pipes, and Hard Chrome 3's on them :)
Any suggestions?
Maybe pull the packs and see if the previous owner installed the quite baffles?
I don't want them screaming, cause I like to listen to the radio on the fairing thats getting installed soon, but I think they should have alittle more bark, no?

What would ultimate baffles do for them? Sometimes I wish my stock pipes were louder but then guess I am really satisfied with the debaffled sound. I would have thought V&H would be fairly loud.
Back when I was a teenager we used to run straight pipes on our cars. Now those sounded good. Can't do that with bikes though as you would have no back pressure.

Lots of posts here already, showing the different methods for V&H pipes. If you find them too quiet, you may as well save yourself the bother of trying stuff and get some UB's. They have a good bark to them.

Remove the baffles and take the packing off then put them back in that will make it louder also some people have wrapped the baffles with tin to give them a different sound you can also try cutting the baffles and make them shorter there are many ways to make them louder with out spending a $100.00 for the ub's.

If you're looking for LOUD with a good tone, invest in a set of ultimate baffles. I consider it to be one heck of a compliment when HD riders tell you that your Kawasaki sounds great.

Marco,
You need the set of Ultimate baffles I have here sitting on the shelf in my shop!
You will really like the new sound, and they are still mellow on the highway.
