I just tested my battery and it is getting a little weak. I was looking at the Yuasa ot Motorcross YTX20CH-BS. They have the same specs and I think they are made on the same assembly line.

I have used NAPA before with good success but what are others using and where did you source them?

Stay away from Batteries Plus. The one I bought there lasted about 14 months and a buddies in a 99 last under 12 months.

I went to my local dealer and replaced mine "in kind' when the time came. Price was reasonable, just a tad higher than on line, but I got it right away. Good dealer, and I figure he needs to eat to. Besides, more selfishly, I want him around for the things I can't get done on-line.

Now you tell me. I bought one from Batteries Plus a few months ago. We'll see how it goes.

The battery is something you have to depend on, might as well spend the extra and make sure you are getting a good one. Yuasa is a good battery and of course the original equipment battery. When the time comes I will probably just go with the original.

Hammer..how many kms. or time do you have on your battery? Mines an 07 and seems to work well still but have thought of getting a new one..just because of its age. How much can. for the yusa?..John

I have a 2003 1500 with original Yuasa battery....still working but I think I will replace it now. Amazon has the YUASA for $79.95

I just replaced mine with a Bikemaster to be on the safe side. I think 5 years is pushing it for a battery.

I found this:

I already have the Bikemaster...we'll see how she holds up.

Thanks all. Yes Schoeney, that's the one I was looking at. I have 38,000K Bdog.
The battery is by no means gone but as it gets weaker, I think it starts to overwork the stator to keep it charged so I prefer to replace it soon as a preventative maintenance item.

I use a gel battery from Westco Batteries. Have used several in different bikes. Great battery and good service, fast shipping.
