Im using Sony 5 1/4" round Xplod speakers. They have a plastic cone and have performed pretty good this past summer.

I didn't use marine speakers in mine, and I used 6.5" good quality auto speakers, with a plastic cone. My best suggestion would be to check crutchfield.com or sonicelectronix.com. Both have a huge selection and user reviews which I find very helpful.

Speakers are one area you don't want to skimp on. Buy good ones and you will appreciate it.

Here's another vote for the Polk DB speakers, and for crutchfield.com too. Been using (4) 61/2" Polk DB 650s. Two in the fairing, and two on the trunk for several years now, they still sound great.

I have Polk Audio DB521s. They are marine certified. You can catch those on sale at Amazon.com right now at $48 a pair.

Man, Im buying the same fairing off Ebay. I didnt know they had 5" speakers, you would figure they would go with a more common size like 5-1/4"

+1 On the Polk Audios, great speakers !

5 or 5.25 makes very little difference. The original Aquatronics that came with my fairing are 5" and the Polk Audios are 5.25 and fit fine.

If the 5-1/4" fit in the reckless fairing, I'm going to buy the Polk Audio. I had them ( 4 ) in my last fairing, and man, they sound great

Hey Guys, Reckless sells 5 inch speakers, black, crhome or black with a chrome ring? oh if you need the chrome plate for the front of the fairing than order one from reckless as the others (harley ) don't fit well! Yep been there :):)

Ok guys I got my speakers in today off ebay . They are the Boss 5.25" marine speaker and they are to big to fit in the hole without cutting the holes out bigger . Some of you guys said you are using 5.25" did you have to cut the holes out? I have found 5" speakers on the net but they are a little price'e .So I guess I will be doing something else.

Im using 5 1/4", but they are in a Premeux fairing. You should be able to open the holes up a little since its only a 1/4" difference. Before you do that, make sure that the speakers are not too deep to fit in the fairing, if they are you won't be able to get the outer piece on. 6 1/2" seem to be the most popular at the moment, they are easily available and well priced.

Not all speakers of a given size fit in the same diameter hole. There are differences in materials and designs. If it's only off by a little bit, use a sanding drum or flap wheel to open the hole up a little bit. I had to open mine up about 1/4" for my 6.5" speakers.

If I was ever replacing the fairing, Id go with the 6 1/2" if possible. Thay sound better than the smaller speakers most times.

I cancelled my order with reckless, ( 4 ) 5.00 speakers, and went with (2 ) 6.50 speakers

I agree, if you can, go with the 6.50 speakers if you can

I just bought Infinity 6.50 Marine Speakers, 450 watts for $149.00 for a pair

I think youll be a lot happier with the 6 1/2" speakers. The ones you chose should sound really nice when you get them installed.

I just hooked up the 4 Polk Audio 521s in the front and finally got the 2 other 521s in the rear speaker pods. The set up sounds great with 4 x 5.25s up front but if you can only go 2 in your fairing I would go for the 6.5s too.
