I was looking on the Jake Wilson site to order a new front tire. The Bridgestone tire is around 30 percent or more less than the other brands. Do they not last as long? What tire do you recommend? Local riding is what I will doing. Thanks Mike :)

Avons, Metzelers, Dunlop Elites, are all popular. Once you start looking youll find that there are only a few choices due to tire size.
Im using the Dunlop D404 on the front, and find it to work well, its also reasonably priced.

There is a reason the Bridgestone is cheaper...it's a cheap tire. Go with Avon Cobra or Dunlop Elite 3 and you'll be better off.

I'll narrow it down even further for you. ;)
Go with the Avon Cobra http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Or the Dunlop Elite 3's. Great tires, I happen to own two of them and made in USA.

Yeah, I barely changed alright :)
My best impersonation of a singer today would have to be of Meatloaf http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif

If you havn't seen Meatloaf lately you would never recognize him, I bet he's lost well over a 100lbs fom his old days. He was on a TV documentary a while ago.

TC you are too funny. You ought to post of few of your older pictures for us to see ever now and then. I didn't take a lot of pictures of my older bikes or cars. The ones I did have got lost in the shuffle. Wish I still had some older pictures to post.

If price is an issue, the D404 is a reasonable price from Jake Wilson. Ringadingh runs those on his front, and I have them on the front and back. I still want to put a CT on the rear, though. Next tire change, I think.

Avon front, Goodyear TT rear.
Works for me.

I have an uneducated guess that a higher priced tire will give the rider more miles and the other side is true. $=miles. But the price of each mile is gonna be about the same. Just my guess.
Thanks for your time
BS front and Avon cobra rear. will be going to Dunlop when I need to change both front and rear tire.

The Dunlop 404 is a good tire; Bridgestone Excedra -- not so much. Dennis Kirk had free shipping on orders over $25 before Christmas. My last tires arrived from them in (4) days from placing order (Minnesota to Texas). I'm switching to Avons on the next tire change over.

I ran D404's front and rear until I put a SP5000 on the rear. The D404's are good tires and wear very well.
