Regional Logo... a few changes

I certainly don't want to start any heavy discussions or arguments, but after looking hard at the new logos I created for the US Regions, I feel the green color might be a bit too much.

Why I did that, I don't know.... chaulk it up to too much glue sniffing when I was designing them... lol.

Below, I am submitting a color change for the US regions only. Basically changing the green to black and changing the color of the outline and lettering.

While I don't want to do a complete redesign or cause any arguments , and I don't want to inconvenience anyone that may already have the green version in print or patch form, I'd like to get your opinion. Is the black background better? -or- keep the green?

The bright green is very busy and draws your eye to the green part of the patch. The black background is much more subdued and easier to read and it draws your gaze toward the center. Having said that, I'm not sure that I prefer one over the other.

Honestly, it's not the green that bothers me, but the font/color of the lettering against the green that makes it hard to look at.

If you are only asking about the green on red, and not any other aspect of the design, then yes, the black background is much better. Red on green will always vibrate causing readability difficulties.

Let me see. It seems to me I among others told you we didn't like the green when you first posted the designs.
But you said something like , you were the dictator and if you liked it thats the way it was going to stay. ;)

Looks like the black is winning the votes... doesn't matter to me that much.

I have to agree with some that I am not real fond of the font-style of "North Western".

I never did like that particular font much. So maybe another font?

I'm surprised Trip, very pleasantly so....that you are willing to re-visit this issue as I know how heated the first round got. I agree with the others that I like "Northwest Nomads" from the original logo better....and that perhaps the font is a bit too busy...but baby steps here fellas.... ;)! Being a native of the northwest...."North Western" just doesn't sound or look quite right....and maybe this would be a good time to lobby for the original "Northwest Nomads" on the logo as well as the color change.... :)! One last thing....if you make the change...all of the lettering should be upright....with none of it upside down (Northwest across the top...Nomads across the bottom).

If you're thinking of changing the font I'd be OK with you doing the same for us up here in Canada. I also agree with "netnorski" that if the lettering rolled right side up at the bottom of the Kawai logo it would look better IMHO. It's just my history of being in the printing /commercial design trade. I find it more eye pleasing.

Black is better but the red outside border is *tooo* much. Take a look at using the same gold that you're using on the inside circle and see if that doesn't tie everything together nicely. This tends to make the red in the Vulcan logo a much better focal point.

I agree SAS; I didn't want to make any commnets as a newbie but having spent most of my career in Marketing and approving far too many "ads" etc it was my first thought as well especially rolling the print at the bottom.

By the way where can I find the Canadian logo and is there a jacket patch available?

Click on the HOME icon at the top of the page, bogatyrs, and then scroll almost to the bottom of the page and see both the Canadian patches. I'm not sure about the larger patches but someone will be along shortly to let us both know about that.

KawaNOW .org. address in the bottom of that circle rounded opposite the top, Kawasaki Nomad Owners Worldwide. Have a "added on" bar on the bottom of the circle where the region would be displayed. Forget the word North Western, use North West, the same with North Eastern, use North East.
