I am wanting a new bike. I have it down to two. Both have their pros and cons. Cons of the CC. No lightbar, passenger backrest, heel toe shifter, bag drop protection. These are things i am used to and need on my next bike. Also on one of the CC forums a lot of complaining about wind buffeting. Need a taller windshield and lowers and that may or may not stop it. Probably subjective for each individual. That seems like a lot of extra cash to make a bike that is supposed to be the cats ass the way i want it. Of course the pros are well known, power, smoothness etc. With the voyager i get all that for 14900 or less for a 2010 model. Still undecided but it looks like the voyager has everything i need. Still not sure about the frame mounted fairing though.

I like the Victory models, I have test ridden the Vegas, Hammer and the King Pin Tour Deluxe. All were light easy to handle and powerfull. They lack what the Nomad gives me. Not sure how to explain that, but they are lacking to me. I would like to try there new road warriors to see what everyone is talking about. As far as a frame mounted fairing, you would adapt quickly. I'm thinking the Vaquero has the looks that I would prefer. Tha seat doesn't look promising though. When I purchased my Nomad, I had just sold my business and I could afford to buy anything I wanted. And I did. I've never regreted buying the Nomad. Replacing it ,is the problem.

The frame-mounted fairing should be the least of your concerns. A frame-mounted fairing is great, I'd take one in a second. I've ridden a couple of bikes that had them and the handling is much better than a batwing or even a big slab windshield like the Nomad has.

18000 for a bike and 1 or 2 Grand for accessories that should be on the bike already. They are nice bikes but like you said they are lacking.

Thats what i thought about the fairing. I think i could get used to it. Just never ridden a bike with one.

Find a Kawi dealer in your area and tell them you are thinking about a Vic. CC, but would like to try a Voyager before you buy. I bet they let you test ride one. And don't pay attention to the fairing just ride it. After all at speed the front doesn't turn anyway.

Test ride as many bikes as you can. That's the only way you'll know which one you should buy. That said, all the issues you mention can be fixed with the CC. I've ridden the Voyager and Ultra...If I had to choose only between those two, I would take the Voyager. Thing is, there are a lot of other bikes out there. Ride them all and then make up your mind.

Mike, I like both bikes your interested in, and I've thought a lot about what my next bike would be, the same two your considering, and the Triumph Rocket III touring. I too love the CC and may get one if I can find a used low priced one. If you like this community, good luck finding a Victory one. Their boards seem to have about 10 members. You will more than likely be figuring things out on your own with that bike. Only heard good things about frame mounted fairings. They take all that weight off the bars which is a plus. The trunk for a CC is $1700 as well, and all the chrome add ons are at least $350 each. Out the door, you won't beat the Kawasaki whether Voyager or Vaquero. I have not ridden either yet, but they will need to ride great to beat the CC on ride, power, and MPG.

The Vulcan 1700 just doesn't have much steam, particularly compared to the Victory. The suspension is also better on a victory too. To some extent or for the most part, you get what you pay for, but the Kawasaki can be a great value. Depends on what you want. Like I said, ride a lot of bikes. If a dealer won't let you test ride, don't buy it.
