Hi folks, I haven't lurked here in a while - too busy riding http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif. Now with the colder weather creeping in, here in NJ, i'm thinking about finishing my final MOD when I have her parked in really cold/snowy weather. I plan on powder coating my head light buckets black.
I have a ton of work to do on my newer addition '02 Honda VFR800, which will be my primary focus this winter (tires, risers, air/fuel filters, chain, sprockets, tires, etc...).
My ? to you all is: Do you have any plans? What are they?
peace.

No immediate plans other than to ride on days that are above 50 and it isn't raining. Bike needs a real good cleaning and waxing as I have neglected doing that lately.

I won't be doing much work to the bike until spring, but I keep myself busy with lots of household projects and working on my guns while watching old westerns. Thats when Im not plowing out the driveway.

Hmm.. Chuckster's air kit mod and cam chain extenders. Maybe a few chrome bits if I have any extra cash lying around.
It's really kinda cool when you get your bike all set up the way you like and you run out of stuff to do. :)

I had a nice list of things to do to the nomad, but one ill placed step up on the roof resulting one broken ankle, one broken leg,one broken rib and 3 broken vertebrae have got me hoping I can even ride again. Funny how one misplaced step can change your whole life.

Wow, Skiman. Sounds like you're lucky just to be able to type your post. As I was reading, the list of injuries just kept coming and getting more serious--like a referee should have thrown a flag and called "piling on" or something.
Judging by your screen name, are you thinking you might have to change that, too?
Skiman, sorry to hear. That's a lotta damage from one fall. Here's praying for speedy and full recovery.

Thanks guys
I'll tell you of all the breaks that rib hurt 10x worse then any of the others.
I must have landed pretty flat on my right side because all the breaks are about equal in type nothing really crushed or snapped so I'm hopeful for a full recovery
On the plus side I'm not allowed on the roof anymore glad I wasn't on the bike ,,,,

It's a metal roof so I picked up pretty good speed..lol
landed a good 8 feet from the eve of the roof. I hit so hard I left a 3/4 inch bow in the deck. I need to post pictures when I get to feeling better.

nothing for the bikes. just going to have the knee fixed and burn up some sick days.
I was going to paint the fairing and fuel tank, but since I crashed the bike someone else is doing that,.....right now. I do need to shop for a new helmet and jacket though because of the accident.
What are you having done to the knee?? I just had reconstructive surgery to my right knee on Thursday. {Not because of the bike crash} They took a ligament from behind the knee and drilled a hole through the femur and one into the tibia and threaded the ligament under the knee cap to each of the two holes in the bones and screwed the ligament into each one. Hurts like a bitch, but the Perkoset sure helps. Best narc. out there that's legal.
Get well soon.

I think I'm going to start small and add on some driving lights. Thinking maybe the Kuryakyn bullet lights unless anyone has something they think might be better/cheaper/easier. I've got a few things I need to do/buy before the rally in the redwoods next summer!

I hope you heal up quickly skiman, that a lousy way to end the riding season. I guess it also ruins your ski season as well. I know how things can change in a split second, and it usually something youve done a hundred times before.

Yeah the bummer was I was setting up the ladder brackets so I could be safe.
Went to the doctors this morning he says it will just take time but doesn't think I'll have any nerve issues from it so that was good to hear. Ski is a family heritage thing so I'm ok there my days of burning down hill with no brakes are long over...lol

For me:
-paint fairing, trunk and lowers
-patch holes in new trunk (harley) before painting - then mount on bike.
looking to wire some lights on it too, and find a matching top rack
-install cadomine air filter on both sides
-install hard lowers
-install driving lights (thanks Chuckster/Joe)
-install new horn
-create some speaker pods for the new trunk - attach and install
-add amp to stereo, for the extra speakers...(might add a pair in the lowers too)
- hook up the lighter in the fairing
hmmmm this list looks a bit longer then most.
and to think I thought I was nearly done!
