Well, I finally sold my beloved mistress to a member of the Gypsy MC just north of Dallas. He'll be here in Laredo to pick her up on Sunday the 14th. As for me, I'll be moving into one of two bikes...
A. 2008 Blue/Silver Nomad 1600
B. 2010 Black/Silver Nomad 1700
I'm not looking to spend over 8k for the '08 or over 11k for the '10. Either way, I'll be buying the new (to me) mistress around late January or early February.
I realized that its a good a time as any to sell her and the time to purchase the new one couldn't be better. What do yall think?

Sounds like you did well Cabby. Good luck with the new Nomad and be careful on the border.

A sharp bike you are selling Cabby. Me I would go for the '08 if it doesn't have too many miles on it. I don't know if I would go 8K for it though. Don't think the book quotes that high a price. Of course the choice is yours and you will be the one riding it. Good luck to you in your future purchase. Hate hearing you are selling the '99. Know you loved it.

The green Nomad is sharp, but I think you'll like the fuel injection version a lot better, good luck with your future purchase, and you get to start all over adding goodies................ http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Cabby,
Congrats, but asking if we like the '08 1600 or the '10 1700 is like asking if we like blondes or brunettes..... ::) http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif! I'm partial to '08 Blue/Silver 1600's....and blondes..... ;)!

$8000 for an 08 here in Ontario would be a steal. They were $15,500 OTD in 08. I almost bought one. I ended up buying an 05 in 08 for slightly less than $10,000.

I think you will miss that green mistress Cabby, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. That 10 might even fit you pretty well. Seems a bit cramped for guy much taller than you, but it might work out well for you if you can stand the heat from cly 2. You might want to see if you can test ride it and check on that heat, no joke.

It just breaks my heart to here someone getting rid of their G/G Nomad. :-[
I have this problem with the best color ever put on a Nomad..it's just too beautiful to do away with!!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
The wife axed me what would I ever do if I got rid of my Nomad and bought a newer one, well... I'd just have to paint it just like my baby is now. After all, the trailed is the right color to have a new one painted to match.
Some people can move on with out thinking about it, where I would be having a BIG problem!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif
But I do have to say congrats on the new bikes you are looking at...

99 G/G's will always have a special place in my heart, but moving up to the 1600 and all the "improvements" was a no brainer for me. Whatever you buy, enjoy it.

Best of luck with the newer one. one has to go for what he/she likes! i can`t ever see parting with mine. i`ve had Many bikes as i`m sure most on here have but by far, this one is my baby. i`ve got many $$ & many hours invested n have it just the way i want it but then again, putting your "own" personal touch to a bike is half the fun.. I`ll rebuild/repair, but unless for some reason i`m forced to,, i hope to have it till the end.....
