I know there's been discussion on this topic. Passions overcome logic, reason and evidence. I have included evidence (in my new sig pic).

I put the camera on the tripod, set the shutter as slow as I could (1/30th in the sunny conditions), framed the bike as it was parked on the left, pressed the button to start the exposure, ran and jumped on (I had the motor running already), rode around and came back into the frame from the right, and jumped out of the frame before the shutter closed.

Disclosure: I used two takes. On the first take, the bike made it around on time, but my foot caught on the saddlebag and I didn't make it out of the frame on time.

No way, The blacks ones are way faster.

My bike got to the spot for the pic before I even got on.

If you believe they are, then that's all that matters. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

How about the Nomad isn't fast at all...

How about the Nomad isn't fast at all...

We're talking speed relative to the Nomad, not the Hayabusa or Z-14.

From what I've seen in the pictures people post, the fastest is any bike color past a gym! Slowest past a donut shop.

You 1/2 right Blue/Silver would have made 3 trips past the camera not 2 ::)

Yes, yes. It is fast.

However, you would need a 1/15th second shutter speed to have the bike make it all the way back in from the right. ;)

It is finally out in the open. The blue Nomads are the fastest we are trying to keep quite about it so other owners won't feel bad.

At a recent rally, while sitting in the parking lot, almost everyone said that they had never seen a Purple Nomad. Some even wondered if it was an aftermarket paint job. But it is a Kawasaki stock color. Conclusion: Purple....so fast you don't even see it untill it's parked. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

OK, Mac, I've let this go on too long. You'll have some of these guys going cross-eyed trying to see those images!

Mac is using a special pair of glasses--and not the garden-variety "Ghost-buster" glasses you see on A&E, Discovery and National Geographic.

The processing power alone requires almost 100% dedication for the two top-of-the-line Cisco server/router combinations he has in his woodshed.

In fact (Mac's not allowed to tell you this, but I think it's ok if I do), when Mac complains about his (cough, cough) "dial-up" problems, it usually has nothing to do with the time-sharing agreement he has with NSA codebreakers on the slower of the two configurations. It's that the second, more sophisticated set-up (it found the end to pi) is stealing bandwidth way beyond expectations attempting to calculate what the "prevailing wage" should be for the dead people who are receiving stimulus checks.

Bottom-line safety note: You can only see the images that Mac refers to if you use his glasses. But then he'd have to kill you.

(burn this posting... now!)

Living in the Dallas area, I can attest to the fact that the Black and Silver are faster as the Blue and Silver are so close in color to the Cowboys that they try to emulate them and we all know how well the Cowboys are doing this year.

minst7877...I'm liking the bag top rail on your bike. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif Is that custom made or what?

Yes, this is a blatant high-jacking of a very entertaining thread but who cares, you are all delusional. http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif

Obviously the red and silver are fastest and anyone that cares to ship your, whatever color, Nomad out to Maui and try to out run me is welcome to bring it on! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif I'll buy the drinks IF I loose. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

Of course now that Bob has outed Mac, Mac will be hitting that special un-marked key on his keyboard, you remember the one Flavor accidental told us about, and none us will remember any of this anyway. http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif

Don't know where it came from as the bike had them when I purchased it. I have seen a green 99 in a pic with a trailer on here that has the same rack. Will need to do some looking to see if I can find it.

Good photography Bob.

My Nomad used to be black but it is so fast it has peeled all the paint off.

That must be the secret key with the card board jammed under it and electrical tape making sure the cardboard stays there http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif Says Caps Lock.

This new junk is still junk. This new acer key board is already missing a part of the 'O', and some of the 'N & M', and this one is silk screened no paper letters.

Hell I only type with 2 fingers, so why should these letta's wear out?

I need 'mercan' parts for my junk..
