Anyone have a hitch on the Nomad, for either a trailer or one of those trunks? I am thinking of the one from Chucksters. Where did you get your's?
And does anyone have info on the trunks/tourpaks that can be used with them. I am thinking that may be a better option than a trailer or a wompus rack and tourpak.

My hitch came from Chuckster. First class hitch. I also have a trunk mounted on a my home made rack.

I've never heard of anyone using a tourpak with a trailer hitch. I have a Chuckster's hitch and a Wompus rack. Both are well built items.

My chuckster hitch is first class. I use mine to pull a trailer but there some around here that have boxes mounted on them.

I made my hitch. Also made a box on a rack that slips into the receiver for when I don't want to pull the trailer.

If you want to mount a Tour Pak you can't get any better than a HD Pak with a Wompus rack, both are very solid units.

Now that's what I am talking about. That looks like a bought box. You say you made that? I like the idea of a tour pak up high on a trip, but for most my riding I want the stripped down, sissy bar look. I don't need all that storage most of the time. I just want to slap some extra storage on and roll cross country once a year. Pull it off at the hotel, ride the town without it.
So it sounds like Chuckster's is a good bet for the hitch. Where did you guys get the rack and or storage box on it? I need that baby to bolt in and lock though.

The box came from Wal-Mart and I made the rack and light brackets for it. I just bolted the box to the rack. 4 bolts hold it to the rack. You could mount any kind of box on the rack. The box locks on both sides. The rack slips in the hitch and pins just like a receiver does. I can also take the box and mount it to the back of my trailer. It's ugly but very effective for what I need.

Here's a bigger box that Borto1990 mounted:

Borto did that using one of my hitches. We built a trailer here for a fellow rider and the cooler rack from the trailer detaches from the trailer and slips into the hitch. It works out great that way, you could do the same.

Cocheese,
Did you get in touch with BigSid1, as he did have one for sale. I can always sell you one that I make as well.

I am contemplating how I want to get my storage needed taken care of still. Hitch, tour pak, trailer, etc, or just throw a bag over the seat. If I didn't like to lock things up, the bag over the seat would do it. If I could leave the seat and grab rails in place a tour pak would be it. But this is why I am leaning towards a hitch.
I am also thinking of buy a few things from you, so trying to decide all before buying to save on shipping.

I too wanted to keep my grab rails, I like the look, so I ended up making a rack to mount my box onto. I had to cut 2 pieces of pipe, 3/4 inch, to take the place of the back rest tubing, and drill the holes through them and the rack. The trunk mounts just above the grab rails and positions the backrest just right. I have a couple of pics that were taken on our recent ride but the file is too big. I can E-mail them to you if you want to see what it looks like.
