Saturday I received a call from a fellow in Alabama wanting to know if I made a rack for his bike. Well, that would depend on what bike he has. He said he wouldn't tell me but if I met him half way he would let me take a measurement and see what I can do.
First thing I told him... "If it's a Harley then it's a NO!"
He promised me it wasn't.
Man, was curiosity driving me crazy!! So... I said I'd go for it. I called a buddy who has a Nomad and asked him to ride with me.
I picked a half way point and he said we'd meet at noon. OK... now, without thinking, I'm in the eastern time zone and he's central... I had to wait an extra hour. ::)

Now, he finally shows up on a 1999 Excelsior Henderson!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif WOW!! what a beautiful bike! He only had about 5,500 miles on it! A 1999! He bought if a few years back with only 65 miles on the bike. We talked and he was getting ready to put a set of Nomad bags on it. He didn't like the leather ones that came on it.
I did the measurements and came home, built the rack and sent it out the next day. Now I'm waiting for a picture of the bike with the only Henderson rack I will probably ever make... ;) :)

http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif Yeah, I don't get the title of this thread either. As far as I can see that is not as nice as a Nomad ???

Different strokes guys. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all the other cliches that relate. :)
While I would not trade my Nomad for it, I do appreciate the styling.

I think it is a cool looking bike for sure. As an additional bike in the fold, I would love it.

Years ago I had 1900 shares of Excelsior Hendserson Stock. They had a technologically advanced motor, frame, fuel system that I thought for sure they would one day match Harley. They also had a new high tech factory in Minn. Unfortunately the brothers that started it blew startup capitol, made huge financial mistakes and trusted a new partner which took the company a pieced it out selling off assets. I ended up getting a 99 RoadKing. I personally loved the looks of that bike. Very unique.
