Beads work good in the summer but cold in the cool weather.Sheepskin is good year round except in the rain.I guess the ideal situation would be to get both but if I had to choose it would be the sheepskin.

I have both. Not sure what you're looking for, but neither makes a huge improvement in comfort. The beads keep you somewhat cooler, the sheepskin provides a breathable layer between your butt and the vinyl seat.
Neither of these are a good substitute for a better seat.

My pal uses the beads and he found them to be a great improvement on his bike, although its not a Nomad. We rode to the Northeast Rally and hea stated it was much better than riding without the beads.

I have a mustang seat and use a sheepskin. It works great for me, no "monkey butt". I wear a rain suit when it rains so my backside doesn't get wet.

I used to use lambskin. Very comfortable ride. No monkey butt.
Never did the beads, always thought they would be hard to clean.
Has anyone ever used the "Monkey Butt powder" for sale at Tractor Supply?

I think any medicated powder will work as well as Monkey Butt powder.I use the Walmart brand and it does help.

My same pal who uses the beads on his seat also uses the Monkey Butt powder in conjunction with the LD riding shorts. He doesn't complain about a sore butt anymore like he used to.
Can't help you with the beads, but(t) we have used the sheepskins and find they add MILES of comfort. Never any complaints from the pillion with the skins. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I have used both the sheepskin and beads. Both give temporary relief. Just a change of pace on long rides. I am convinced the only long term solution is the right seat. IMHO that is the Day Long Russell or the Ultimate. But it is hard to part with that kind of money if you don't know that is really the final answer.

We tried the beads for about 800 miles on our Eureka Springs rally. I didn't care for them at all and sent them back for a refund.
Got the sheepskin and love it.
