Motorcyle Oil and Filters Link and Other Stuff

I thought some of you might want to take a look at this link about oil and filters and some other stuff.

So, if someone searches and finds some information that may be useful to others on a forum, they should first search the forum for the possibility of that same information has been previously posted? There is redundancy in every forum and in almost every thread. Not every post is read in a thread by someone looking for certain info because of off topic B.S. and other non-related info.

If there is so much redundancy on a certain topic, maybe there should be a specific heading for said topic. Nah. Make people search, then say something if they post something that has been posted a few times before. May make them feel dumb and less likely to post something that may be useful to everyone because it may have been posted before.

I, for one, won't search a forum to check to see if some info I found has been posted before. I now know there are folks that will let me know!

When its reposted on a thread three or four down from the previous thread it doesn't make much sense repeating the same topic over and over again, just add to that thread. I realize some people don't look very hard for an answer, especially after its been buried over a period of time, but to have the same thing repeated on the same page is a little redundent.

How about a technical board just for oil??

Since that particular tech section is controlled and has no discussion capabilities, its a matter of time before the topic will continue on in redundancy mode in another discussion section. It seems more people go to the discussion section for help than the one person controlled tech sections. More input from more people helps more than the input of one. (even if that one's input is a result of several inputs) The views in each topic is proof. JMHO

Yes Tom, we are both getting to the stage in life where we sometimes miss things or sometimes forget what we have seen. If it helped one person then it was worth my effort to post it. Talking about redudant stuff when one person says this has been posted before does it take five or six other to say the same thing. This has already been posted. $hit I only need one person to let me know it doesn't take an Army.
