I want to remove my gas cap. Is it as easy as removing the two phillip head screws?
Txs for your response
And, enjoy the college football on TV tonight.
Picks
Utah over Pit
S. Carolina over Sth Miss.
And, being from Tenn, I would love to see SC beat by Hawaii - but that want happen.

Yep. I would place a rag or something in the filler neck, lest ye drop a screw or something down in the tank.
Go UTAH!

Well, now that you ask.
Last night I put some fuel additive in my tank. The bottle read "Do not get on paint - will remove paint". So of course as "careful" But I dribbled s small amount and it pooled in the recessed well of the gas cap. And sure enough, the paint was "removed" down to bare metal (just inside the cap well - none on the tank)
The Fix - to remove the gas cap so I can get at the lower part of the well. use some clear finger nail polish to coat the bear metal and then use black touch up paint with q-tip to cover the metal.
Now that I have confessed - any suggestions other than be "careful" next time??
And Scott - that is a big 10-4!!! Go UTAH!!

If it ate the paint that quick it will prolly really clean up the fuel system. Hope it don't eat anything else it's not supposed to.
And the name of this toxic fuel additive is....................?

I'm with Jared on the funnel. As careful as you can be $hit like that will usually happen.

usranger74, Alot of us here use Sea Foam as an additive. As far as I know it will not eat the paint if it gets on it.
