Was coming home from a Wva ride last week on the interstate, I noticed that at around 70mph under pull up a hill there was a really loud rattling sound from the front of the bike, it was so loud that the wife noticed it to. The bike handled normally at all times, but still this terrible racket. Dropping the speed down to 65 the noise stops. went over the bike when I got home and everything is ok. I'm thinking this maybe a speedo cable issue?? Any ideas??

What year Nomad? Later models have an electronic speedometer - no cable.

Are you sure the noise is not the engine pinging under load ?

07 nomad, This isn't a pinging sound more like a coffee can half filled with rocks and shaken.

Sounds like you need to install a fuel processor. But just to be sure I'd get that front wheel off the ground and check the front end for any loose fasteners.

I was reading somewhere that the wire connections inside the headlight shell could make that kind of noise. The cure was to wrap everything in bubble wrap.Might as well start with the simple things first.

If you don't think its pinging it could be a lot of things. Check the rad cover, headlight bucket, loose lowers, windsheild, and anything else you can see up front. Sometimes these tjhings arehard to track down.

It's either the radiator cover or the wire bundle in the headlight bucket. Mine does the same thing. There's no harm being done. It's just that annoying rattle when you hit a certain speed, under a load, sometimes while you're in a corner.
