Where are they?
Does anybody know how they look like, any changes to technical specs or looks?
The other brand released their new line-up and some people are already riding the Ultra Glide http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2011models/2011-Harley-Davidson-FLTRURoadGlideUltra.htm

Kawi seems to be the last manufacture to release the new models. I remember when they were going to release the 1700 everyone was extremely anxious and they ended up releasing it even later than usual.

Are you going to buy it?
Who cares..be satisfied with your ride.
A poor mans view..I suppose.
I stick to the 1600..and actually ride it.
Period.

I am not going to buy the 17 or a harley. I like the 16 just fine. If i wanted another harley I would have bought another harley. As it is I get too much stuff to fix. That's why I like the 16. It takes the time i don't really have to just change oil and i don't need another thing to fix.
I don't think HD is a better bike at all, it's just another bike of many. I grew up with them and Brit bikes before Honda, and ya gotta be as old as me or older to have done that.

Hi Rick,
Here we go again :)
Currently, we can afford only two bikes and if Santa is good to us this year, I might trade up the Suzi in the New Year.
Or if Kawasaki irons out the wrinkles in 2011, I would be very tempted for a new Nomad. Did you see a 1700 in person? The more I see them, the more I get used to the bags, everything else is awesome.
And when I grow up and earn a lot of money, I will ride a Harley ;) It'll be a Road Glide with dual pipes.
I think I'm gonna demo a couple of Glides in October at Deeley's; Street or Road I don't mind http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif.

Absolutely, HD is just another bike and I would buy one if I had the money.
There is only one thing that I dislike about HDs is the majority of the HD owners. Emphasis on the owners. In my mind, every true motorcyclist would appreciate a nice ride in the mountains or on the freeway regardless of the make and model.
Anyways, when it comes to bikes, I am not married to any brand.

Speaking of which... on my ride to the Grand Canyon last week, I saw a couple on a Harley coming towards me somewhere on Hwy 89 in northern AZ. I was giving them "the wave" and he was giving me a thumb-up, right to the point where he figured out I wasn't on a Harley. Then he gave me the thumb-down. Dirtbag!

Am I going to buy it, maybe!
And yes, totally satisfied with my Nomad but was equally satisfied with my C50 also.
What is better than a brand new bike parked in your garage?
You admire it all winter then ride it in the spring.
And you ride it more in the summer.
A couple of summers go by fast and you start itching for another "new" bike. What's wrong with it?

It sounds like it happened on the open road, i.e. not in an urban area. So it is annoying, I would give him the middle finger.
As long as I`m riding within the city limits, I don`t wave anymore. If I get a wave, I acknowledge it but I don`t wave at anybody anymore because we have so many jerks in the Lowermainland, B.C. Canada.
Got a oil filter for the Nomad today and the dealer said thay were going to see the 2011's in October and he was going to try to have them on showroom floor by January for sure or by late December if possible.

I'm certainly not "rich" but I could have bought a Harley when I bought my Big Dog custom Boxer. I could have bought a Harley when I bought my 2006 Goldwing. I could have bought a Harley when I bought my 2009 Nomad........and I paid cash for all three, but here's a bulletin........I don't want no stinkin Harley! Everyone who owns a bike that is not a Harley is not necessarily wishing they could have bought a Harley instead. I chose the Nomad because that is the bike that had all the features that I was looking for in a motorcycle....and I am perfectly happy with it! ;)

CJ, pretty much the same thing happened to us in Zion Nat Park, except the HD folk were parked and behind us (wife and I) was another couple on an HD. The pirates started to wave at us, then quickly lowered their hands apparently when they ID'd our bike, then they waved at the couple behind us... If someone gave me a HD I'd sell it and buy a good bike.

I could have purchased a Harley; my choice to buy a metric was not because I had to settle for a less expensive alternative; that would make me a Harley Wanna Be; rather, I view it as a more refined evolution of a really cool predecessor (Road King). I recognize that the styling cues of the Nomad are taken from HD, but I don't buy into the belief that because of that, I have a second rate knock off. I believe that my Nomad is as good as any comparable product out there (and better in some ways). As many of you know, it is less expensive than HD for a number of reasons, none of which, in my opinion have to do with quality. If someone has a different opinion - that is ok too...

Mac, you and me must be the same age. Lots of Brit bikes for me too before Honda came along. Yamaha are going to announce new models on Sept 1st. Maybe there is a new Venture coming out ????

Now that I am in the market for a bike, I have to say I would have concerns about pulling the trigger on an HD. They are heavy, underpowered and more importantly, tighter ergonomically than the 1600. The heel/toe shifter is meant for someone with smaller feet too. I find the whole shifter just gets in the way and in my opinion, the bike was designed for looks first, function second. The only thing that would have me even consider it is my wife breaking my balls about her being comfortable on the bike and the fact she likes the way they look. Oh well. What I am finding is that no manufacturer is making exactly what I am looking for, which is a large displacement standard with hard bags and trunk with over 100HP, weighs less than 700lbs and is shaft or belt drive. Emphasis on standard riding position.

When I bought my Nomad I looked at what the bike came with and how much to spend to get bike where I needed it to be for comfort for my wife and I. Honda wouldn"t deal to our liking. Suzuki was close but a stock nomad had everything we needed plus the dealer whored me the best. If I have 3 different bikes and dealers wanting my business, its the dealer that can whore me the best that gets my money. I'm so glad I got the Nomad we just love to ride it and we could care less if some one won't wave to us, life is to short to worry about petty crap like that. If someone feels there bike is better than mine so they can't associate with me its their loss and no skin off my back cause the open road is our true friend. Its all about the ride!!!!
