Good evening!

I just got back from a 4500 mile trip out west and noticed my kickstand is starting to drag when in the up position. I painstakingly got the nut off and took a look at everything.

The spring seems to be fine; the threads on the bolt and the thread on the kickstand were pretty much sh*t. The frame shows a bit of wear as well as the "fork" part of the kickstand.

I'm just wondering if any of you have had this happen before and what a solution might be. Thanks, you guys have always been a great help!

Not exactly sure what you mean when you say starting to drag in the up position.

A recent kickstand thread that may be informative.

I think the kickstand is a pain anyway..
In the past we had both options per defenition..the kickstand and the central stand..The bock..in Dutch.
That way..one could measure the oil level easy.
N.ow..I need someone to level the bike to see the oil glass.
In my experience..you never really know about the oil in the engine.
It's blind faith.

Damn! I thought I did a thorough search of the forums earlier; I guess I didn't look hard enough. Thanks for the help fellas. I may try a new bolt and nut, see if it helps.

Yeah it is a pain to use, lets all just lay the bike on its side.

If you could put a Nomad on a center stand you are a better man than I am.

Get one of those mirrors on a telescoping handle. You can sit on the bike with it level and see the oil glass. In my experience..you never really know about the oil in the engine.

I always know the oil level in my bike.
